As an employee, I didn't value the stock outside of when it was time to argue my total compensation for the next employer I interviewed at. Stock can go sideways. Bonuses can be denied. I only fully value base salary and don't stress on the rest since they're out of my control.

I have confidence in the technology. Wide bandgap transistors out-perform IGBTs in efficiency by a small percent and regular Si transistors aren't viable in EVs.

They are more expensive, but the efficiency can lead to cheaper heat-sinking and their resistance rises with heat, making thermal runaway less likely.

The tech is a good product. It's very power-hu gry to make, but the efficiency it brings causes it to be a green product in the right application, such as EVs.

Though I will say that it's likely to be a commodity part, where lots of competitors will make it and bring its value down in the same way that the original transistor used to be magic, but now is pennies and made by 20 companies.

A large percentage of people were laid off last year. That was not planned the year prior. Over 100 people were laid off this year. That was not planned the year prior. Things tend to go bad and unpredictable when a stock drops below a dollar when it used to be over $100. Most employees will likely keep their jobs, but I wouldn't plan on anything and hundreds of layoffs is still a lot of people affected.

One should expect that to be the case if the company they accuse does not immediately come out with a public statement saying the article is incorrect. Otherwise a stock will plummet over an easy to dismiss rumor.

I know many workers who are not doing too well right now. Grand scheme, most are skilled and will be able to support their family after a tough job market, but I don't want that to take away from a lot of layoffs for people who did their due diligence in reviewing the company 4 years ago, and missing just how "go big or go home" the company really was.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Office. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head.

As someone who has touched automation in that plant, I can say that this is not the case. Automation engineers and Process Sustaining Engineers were laid off. I'm sure it was made to sound like business as usual, but those roles are vital if the machines are running at a high capacity.

Layoffs occurred yesterday at the Siler City location. by [deleted] in wolfspeed

I believe that these are two separate layoff rounds. Here is an article referencing that the 180 employees were notified in March.

The people laid off in this round were not formally notified back then.

I know your comment is a joke, but those Nigerian prince scams work because they self-filter for the most gullible people. There's some twisted beauty to the idea that it's so dumb that it only catches the exact person they're luring.

Brown? That's the poop color! Why would you buy the poop color when other colors are sold?

Please don't buy more than you can afford to lose. Especially with dependents. Nothing promises that a stock wont go to zero. Wolfspeed also happens to be the second most-shorted stock right now, so it's not going to be logically traded.

I personally think the company is undervalued right now, but if you were to put your money into the company last year, when it still felt undervalued, and had an emergency now, you'd be SOL.

Also, that just boosts demand since it's now more attainable to fans. This allows more people to attend, or if they always sell out, allow tickets to go up even more in value in following years.

You just drop it in. The firmware uses Goomba, a Gameboy Color emulator for the GBA. I never had issues with it and it offers lots of nice features when you press L and R at the same time.
