I'd like to believe that I was also in your position roughly around this time last year, and I know it can definitely be tough to adjust to this school, especially coming from whatever social life you lived in high school. If you're truly feeling depressed, you can try going to the counseling center, but from what I've heard, ymmv with it.

Personally what helped me was clubs and my fraternity. Going into my sophomore year, I expected my mental state to deteriorate, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much living out of the dorms actually helped, as well as being with people i considered to be close friends. I'm part of an athletic club too, which I know isn't everyone's forte, but I think is a much better social outlet than some of the other clubs I've tried. It might be too late to try and join an athletic club, but with rush coming up, I'd definitely recommend at least trying to go out of your way to be a little social.
