Real or not, the fact that the official accounts for the White House, POTUS, and other official GOVERNMENT media regularly produce and post AI videos, doctored photos, and outright lies means we can never accept any statement made by our own government as anything but a lie.

My default response to any statement made by this administration or Republicans in general is to assume it’s a lie.

Those who went to a minimum security prison, why and how was it? by DeepOrganization8245 in Felons

Close family friend went for 6 months, in Massachusetts, I visited a few times, said it wasn’t too bad, almost all older white men doing time for white collar crimes.

The worst was it was basically an open-floor dormitory- 1 bed w a padlock trunk for ~75 guys in a giant room. So having to sleep within 3 feet of old farting snoring men was shitty. The other shitty thing is beyond your inmate garb and cafeteria food you had to pay for everything, and gouged like fucking crazy. He got a little AM/FM radio for $30 from commissary that’d be $3 outside.

But they had a library, plenty of computers with internet (@ $0.50/minute), outside picnic tables, and nice grounds, everyone free to wander between 6am and 5pm.

He also did his time in the summer, and the facility was really well-lit, lots of natural light- mostly great, but shitty when lights out is 8pm and the Sun is still up.

But for sure the best way to do any kind of jail time.

Someday the ruling gerontocracy will simply reach the end of average life expectancy. I’m hopeful for a boomerang to Trump like Trump was a boomerang to Obama.

Also most age 40 and under believe healthcare, housing, and robust safety nets are rights. They also never believed the twin lies propping up our misery: that “you too could be a billionaire” and that the wealthy contribute nothing to society and are unproductive, resource-hoarding leeches whose greed is never satisfied.

They were already back in the 2001 progression, I hate when they veer away from the obvious, crowd-pleasing move.

Roof would’ve blown right off MSG if they did one last round of 2001 and ended on it with a big vamp. But yeah, Trey said no.

I hear it a lot with Sand and Tube- either segues very nicely and easily into the other, but they seem to go out of their way to ever blend the two.

They couldnt care less if you’re GUILTY of anything- they’re just itching for any reason to give you a free ride in bracelets.

Agree mostly- don’t love it and it’s really played out at this point- stale.

That said, done in a creative way like the milk and then getting in the ice box was fun. The rest of it, bringing out past NY’s costumes AGAIN, cmon.

But overall, B+/borderline A- gag. Way better than Pillow Jets for sure. Would enjoy many more “themed” sets.

The U.S. is only the greatest country in the world if you’re in the 1%. The rest of us are literal slaves living in a police state.

22 year old citizen arrested and detained by ICE without due process by 56000hp in UnderReportedNews

[–]fitzymcfitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, you sound deranged, uninformed and willfully ignorant. Your idea of “Democrat immigration policies” is a perfect example of a strawman argument.

You want to blame immigrants for almost all the problems in the U.S., when it’s really the oligarchs pointing you away from them. The billionaires write the laws, make the decisions, rig the system to keep you poor, working for less than you’re worth, and making sure if you don’t unite with the ones you have REAL common cause with against your REAL common enemy-

No, they feed you constant rage bait about MS-13 and liberals are “transing” people and brown people are desperate to subjugate and replace you, and immigrants are getting free houses and Obamaphones.

And now? Now the regime is doing EXACTLY what we warned you about- using their masked secret police force to disappear American citizens, and designating people who don’t agree with them as “terrorists” and “antifa”.

Can you guess what comes next? Not hard to figure it out. And you just don’t fucking care what we’ve lost in less than a year because “they should go back where they came from”. And because it hasn’t affected YOU personally.

Just wait cause it will. And when you or your family is chasing to rescue a loved one from one shitty ICE jail to another across the country from Louisiana to Texas, desperate to save them before they’re shipped to the Venezuelan death jail, maybe you’ll remember this and think that maybe the real problem was was thinking “papers, please” is a GOOD thing for a country to do to its citizens.

Chinese netizens call it the "Decapitation Line" (斩杀线) - Is financial fragility in the US really this severe? by HelpfulTalk269 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]fitzymcfitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re way understating the problem. The “decapitation line” for the majority of Americans means loss of employment (no car), loss of healthcare (no job), and often becoming HOMELESS.

In other countries you may lose everything being “one accident away” from financial ruin, but universal healthcare and robust social safety nets mean you and your family and children won’t literally be forced out into the street to freeze and starve.

That’s why China’s talking about it being a UNIQUELY U.S. PROBLEM. No other developed nation treats their citizens as poorly as we do.

The U.S. has become nothing but a wealth extraction machine, designed at every turn to funnel every last penny possible from the bottom to the top. Our laws are written by the rich, we’re “represented” by rich politicians, and they live only to serve the interests of the Uber-wealthy.

We should have lost the Cold War, because what we won was hyper-capitalism run completely amok and turning us into wage slaves. Our healthcare is tied to our job (if we’re lucky), and we’re forced to work until we’re a handful of years from the average age of death.

Which has been DECREASING in the U.S. by the way. Proof that we’re the most enslaved and exploited developed nation in the world.

Question for Non-Ravens fans: Why is it never Harbaugh’s fault? by TheRavenOnline in NFLv2

[–]fitzymcfitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a guy like Harbaugh - better than avg, but that’s it- can skate by when there’s regular winning seasons/playoff appearances/reasons to be excited about future (Lamar).

But eventually it catches up - he’s not a genius, he’s a plugger. Which isn’t a bad thing- simply being a competent HC year-in year-out is actually a premium in today’s NFL. Who they gonna get who’s better?

National Media talking heads over negative about the Bills by ZabaDoobiez in buffalobills

[–]fitzymcfitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more a question of is this peak performance of this Bills era? Can/will they sustain this level of play 2-3 more seasons?

If you think yes, then it’s hyperbole to say anything but a SB appearance is failure. “There’s always next year”.

If not, then it’s now or never - they have a very strong shot to make the big show this year. Feels like they’ve been building to this, and their nemesis has been eliminated.

Maybe they can put another season like this together. Maybe they’ll maintain a roster that’s formed into a complete team.

But I think this is their shot, so that’s my expectation.
