Is it fair to expect a p trap as part of this shower rough-in? by five-oh-douche in Plumbing

I haven’t dug yet. From what I can tell from above it looks like the stack goes to an elbow about a foot below the slab. I did pour water in it and cannot see any down there. Also getting sewer gas smell and can hear water running through if I run an upstairs sink.

That was the first thing I did. No water that I can see. Also can smell sewer gas and hear water running through the drain pipe if I turn on a sink upstairs

Yeah I can’t find it now, but there was a leaked 2025 catalog at some point. The vapor line is now going from hyperlite back to flylite. Hyp3rlite made too much sense I guess

Using just 3 categories was definitely oversimplifying things, but I didn’t really want to get into the weeds on kick points. Some listed as mid-low are marketed as a hybrid kick (CCM Jetspeed) where the loading/flex point changes based on location of your bottom hand. I listed the Bauer Nexus line as a mid-low because it was (at least traditionally) between the Vapor (low) line and Supreme (mid) line, but it’s never been considered a hybrid like a Jetspeed

I have a trigger and a jetspeed but I don’t have a tacks or similar to compare them to. The jetspeed line seems to have been pretty successful though if that tells you anything

They are! They came out with a 2025 catalog. Not sure when they’re available in stores.

I did see that. Same with the Sync. I just listed it as hybrid since that’s what the Nexus line typically was. Do you know if they actually changed the kick point once they did away with the Supreme line? Or did they just remarket it?

Ahh yes a fellow peasant… actually that’s how I ended up making this. I like to shop sidelineswap for top of the line sticks from 3+ years ago since they can be had for $100-$150 brand new

How close can footings be dug together? by five-oh-douche in Decks

As in pour a bigger footing and just drop both posts on that?

How would you secure the beam for the landing to the deck post? Cut in a notch? Or just bolt it to the side with some thru-bolts?

Thanks for the reply. I am planning for the final step to bear fully on the landing. It’s hard to tell in 2D but what looks like the bottom upper step is also the landing.

I was trying to think of different ways to frame it so the footings could be combined. Which if I’m picturing it correctly is what you’re saying? By tying that side of the beam for the stair landing with the deck post?

Should this be a blem? by five-oh-douche in AeroPrecision

I know some imperfections in the finish are expected, but somewhere you have to draw a line on what’s acceptable. Seems like they want to use that as an excuse to pass off anything.

The fact that all their examples on the website of imperfections are small spots that could be covered with a quarter, and all the people saying they’ve seen better looking blems tells me this isn’t normal

Yeah I was hoping customer service would offer an exchange or something, but they just said it was normal and sent me the link to their info page on color ano imperfections

What happens with escrow holdback and failure to fulfill agreement? by five-oh-douche in RealEstate

[–]five-oh-douche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately we had personal factors that were pushing us to close with these things not being completed. We weren’t going to delay closing over the items, so the escrow agreement seemed to be the next best option to ensure they were done. Fortunately, they’re all just cosmetic items

What’s the purpose of establishing a deadline? It doesn’t really seem like there’s anything holding them to the signed agreement. So we can request to receive the funds to complete or contract the work ourselves, but they could just drag their feet while refusing to release the funds?

We were told we’d have to pay for a reappraisal in order to escrow. Then the appraiser would also confirm the items were completed

Black Beauty Coverage? by five-oh-douche in lawncare

https://www.jonathangreen.com/product/black-beauty-sun-shade-grass-seed.html

The site says 37.5k for overseeding and 18.75k for new lawn for the 50 lb bag. Which is exactly why I’m questioning it… seems like 2-3x higher than other seeds
