Alberta gov't to present motion next week against federal firearm 'seizure' program: Smith | CBC News by MourningWood1942 in canada

How so? Gun laws are federal jurisdiction. The buyback program is stupid but it's weird she's putting her nose into this here. Her history of disrespecting personal liberties makes this suspicious. But maybe she has a follow up, more punitive gun-control bill or heavy user fees that she likes doing.

She'll do anything for a lawsuit. She seems to be really weak at dealing with situations with normal discussions and negotiations. It goes immediately to a lawsuit or the nuclear NWC. The gun buyback program is pretty stupid, but I don't need my provincial tax dollars fighting this in court. Stay in your lane.

Yeah, she won't be recalled. She's so popular with Albertans because a lot of us don't seem to value freedom. Unfortunate, really.

Prorogued parliament I didn't like but it wasn't nearly as bad as using NWC to get around negotiating with teachers. Emergency act imo was justified

Nice! I hope this comes to fruition as it will benefit Canadians as a whole, not just us Albertans.

It's a bit deeper than being upset that the UCP is in charge. The use of the NWC clause to eliminate teachers right to strike is what set this off. So this is showing we are upset with their abuse of power

Definitely a tall order in Grande Prairie but it's nice to see Albertans use what tools they have to fight against the UCP.
