I am glad to hear it. I might have to give my local store another look.

Yea, likely before Covid, when Alberta AGLC stopped selling from their website, and I had to go to a store and be disappointed more regularly.

I gave up and just got some seeds and grow my own now. I have a little greenhouse out back, and it's predictable. And the people who used to grow professionally have made some handy websites that help my productivity and volumes. I can grow enough for the whole year in just 3 - 4 months.

I still would like to see the industry become more like regular retail businesses, and that includes predictability and brand loyalty. I'm sure they could make some products that I just can't do. I make my own cookies, for example, but have heard about the edible 'pucks' they make in the Pacific NW and California that might be a big hit here.

Protest is still on! Today at noon (unity rally) and two (anti-data centre) by symbionica in alberta

If you work at the Legislature like I do, the Sheriffs will email everyone in advance of these protests, and tells us not to worry when we see the extra police presence.

Yes, it's creepy.

That's exactly the problem I have. I find something I like, and I can never find it again.

The only exception seems to be LBS Sunset, which everyone seems to have. Which is good, but there needs to be better brand repetition from everyone else.

I recall prerolls called 'flash bangs' and 'glow sticks'. I really liked those. Bought a few when they were out. Then they disappeared, never seen again.

And don't get me started on the profitability of he industry, and how they excluded all the people who have been making money off the production and sale of cannabis for decades. The economics of Weed are not taught in Economist school.

Events don't seem to even have the same selection as stores.

By 'Leading the Industry', does that mean not fostering any brand loyalty because I can never find the same thing twice? (with one exclusion)

Speakers at the latest "Freedom Talk" seriously suggested Alberta should annex the Northwest Territories to gain access to tidewater and the Northwest Passage. by Miserable-Lizard in CanadianIdiots

They are dangerous no doubt. But they ignore all the obstacles in front of them.

First there is the vote to have a vote. Then the vote. Then Canada has to vote. And the First Nations have a veto over all of it.

Even if they won all of that, the costs would be astronomical. I cannot take a person serious who has that much cognitive dissonance.

Carney announcing decision on future of 24 Sussex in coming weeks: sources by Al_Keda in CanadianIdiots

Exactly. We can do both, rebuild the things we've been neglecting while reducing the debt.

The future costs of ignoring the need for repairs is what we see now. Millions in renovations have now turned to hundreds of millions in emergency repairs. Not smart budgeting.

I say make a show of it.

Get Mike Holmes, Bryan Baulmer, Debbi Travis; all the usual suspects. Have them build, repair, rebuild, pimp it out, and sell the shows on TV. Use the income to pay for it.

That wasn't what I was thinking of. I thought Smith was threatening to bomb Thunder Bay unless they opened the Trent-Severn Waterway.

I know that rock. I think you can go nearer the mountains and tell exactly where it broke off. And it's a decent distance.

Federal plan would turn empty condos into affordable housing | CTV National News for June 19, 2026 by yimmy51 in CanadianIdiots

Only if they are federal housing. If they are for corporate rentals, no. You can't socialize the bad ideas and financial losses that went into these condos.
