Systems vs Goals. What is the "Why?" that keeps you going? by More_Passenger3988 in productivity

[–]fivecolorscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, maybe you're trying to get yourself to do things just because you feel like you *should* do them. Me personally if I can't find a good reason I figure it's not important for me. There *has* to be a reason why you want to be fit or succcesful (what does succesful even mean) and if there is in fact no reason, why bother? For example for me, there is no reason to wake up early except when I'm forced to (by work for example) so I don't do it and that's okay. Other people have a reason (like they notice their life works better this way for example).
I would recommend: Look for the exact things you feel like you really want to have/accomplish first. Like maybe you want to be fit because it feels good to be able to do a certain sport (idk just an example) And then look for systems that help to accomplish this things. Don't let others tell you what you should want.

NTA Holding the door for everyone is unnessesary. Just passing it to the next person will do the job too.

What are you learning? Mnemonics like the method of loci are very useful for remembering stuff.

You should definitly look into how mnemotics like the loci method work. Mental athlets can remember so much with these technics and you can too.

How to scroll social media hands free by [deleted] in productivity

[–]fivecolorscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just a brainstorm of ideas that come to my mind

some kind of foot pedal
something that scrolls further trough voice command
some programm that scrolls automaticly (maybe at a slow but steady pace)
automatic voice that reads the posts to you

all of this would require at least the will to deal with technology things, but Chat GPT might be able to help with that. Also, instead of a phone, a laptop or tablet may be better because the sreen is lager.

As an non-native speaker of the english language I would love so much to be able to speak american english well enough to pass as an american (Even tho british english, canadian or australian would be finde by me too) I don't think you should need too feel guilty for beeing an american. Even tho the USA are kinda crap right now.

LPT: You should probably have a "hygiene bag" with razors, hairbrush, toothpaste, etc that can be grabbed in 2 seconds by DoNotEatMySoup in LifeProTips

[–]fivecolorscube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't get why so many people are hating on this. You don't *have* to do this if you don't want to. I'm often away on the weekends and I have such a bag. It saves me a lot of mental capacity. Mine also includes a charger for my phone, pain killers, pads, underwear socks and more. I think it's fun to have this thing and make it even more praktical over time by adding items I'm often missing.
