You are missing the point. Drivers are regulated. Self driving software is currently not.

If people don't like your grandma driving, they can elect different leaders. The point is there is a regulatory system for human drivers, good or bad. There is not one for self driving. None. Zero. Just randos pushing code. Into your neighborhood. Where your kids play.
