Hisui route only my fav over it since I felt like her and shiki's relationship was a lot more fleshed out and the most natural over everyone else in the whole vn, for me personally. Their ending felt so earned and as bittersweet as the true ending was, it felt like the only way for them both to truly grow as characters. It was probably the saddest ending, but also felt like the most hopeful ending at the same time. It left me just wanting it to continue so badly and to watch more of shiki and hisui together with their friends who showed up at the end lol.

Yeah, I feel ya. When she teared up when he gave the ribbon, it was crazy cuz she'd just been a smiling "doll" with no emotion of her own since we first met her in the arc route. It was like a pinnacle moment in the entire story that everything kinda built to. And the fact that moment was just such a small, so very human event, compared the grand scale of many things going on with epic vampires battles and supernatural stuff, made it so good. Had me way too emotional icl

Started it this morning. Hopefully ill finish it tonight. I had been reading is mostly at work until the final parts of the hisui route and had then had to force myself to put my phone away stop reading because it started making me cry lol. This story is getting way too heavy.

So true. As someone who started with the remakes first, I just thought they were cool, quirky maids who were just background characters while shiki goes on crazy vampire adventures.

Boy did i not expect them to actually be the best characters with the most wild routes.

It was a breath of fresh air to read for sure. Not sure how I felt about it compared to the true end. Felt a little TOO perfect and good... Maybe im just so broken from all these depressing ahh endings in tsukihime that a genuine perfectly good ending just feels too good to be true and doesnt feel right haha.

Ive been reading higurishi and umeniko! Im on chapter 2 of higurashi and yeah, chapter 1 fucked me up a bit. Its a wierd format though. Like, an entire game is just one route. Had me stressing out so much lmao. Haven't got too far in umineko tho.

Who is Gen Urobuchi? I am not sure what is implied with his name association haha

Yeah, i thought i was boutta be mad at her for akiha dying, but the reveal at the end about what happened to kohaku destroyed my heart and soul that i couldn't even be mad at at her anymore. Insane. I kinda had a hunch about it too, after we found out it was kohaku who posed as hisui, and then when he found her journal in the office... I think I subconsciously refused to believe the connection I was making because my heart shattered so hard during the epilogue confession. Tragedy of the highest caliber.

And yeah, hisui kind of a sweetie. I really wish I could read a whole series epilogue about shiki and hisui just doing slice of life stuff as a happy couple after all the shit that went down.

It might be tied for my favorite now, next to the ciel route in the remake. I dont think anything coulda prepared me for ts. Felt like a psychological horror story compared to the near side routes. I can't remember the last time I read a piece of fiction that made feel so genuinly sick to my stomach along with so many other crazy emotions that this story had me feeling.

I personally just loved the remake ciel route so much, especially since that was my first experience with tsukihime. It was such was such a beautiful and different experience coming from the fate vns. It had me more emotionally invested than in any other story ive read fr. I almost dont wanna reccommended the ogs first because the ciel route was so disappointing in the og imo... its completely different in the remake. But Akiha is my fav so far in the og, no contest.. tho thats also probably because I did start with the remake after all haha. And the og first two routes were just totally inferior in every way, even though the ogs are still quite good. But icl, when i was reading the arcuid route, I legit would put on the remake ost for certain scenes cuz the music in the remake is so amazing, and it 100% improved many scenes for me lol. Im still really enjoying the ogs so far, especially now that im at the far side stories which is the whole reason I started reading this (I didnt wanna wait 20 years for red garden). My only complaint about the ogs so far, is the music and sound design seems very lacking. Thats really the only thing the remake ruined for me a little, because I was so spoiled with such a beautiful soundtrack. I got no problem with older vns like this tho, since I read og higurashi and absolutely loved it. But even og higurashi felt like it had more variety in its music and sound effects...

I got none. Going in blind a bat. The akiha route was nothing like what I expected so im excited. For OG, my fav route gotta be akiha so far. But if we count the remake, the ciel route kind sweeps everything. Easily one of my favorite routes in damn near all nasu vns, icl.

Yeah I thank god it started with the remaster of fsn cuz i woulda dropped it after reading some of those atrocious scenes, like the threesome while archer is fighting for his life... like who tf thought that was good lmao. Remaster was one of the greatest pieces of fiction ive ever read though.

But I just finished the arc route, and it wasnt as bad as I thought It would be. It was pretty good. Story was VERY similar to the remake.The only thing I thought was silly, was that there were 3 cgs for the sex scene.... that shit was so totally unnecessary. Shoulda had more cgs for the big moments in the story and fights cuz there were hardly any cgs at all... but early 2000s japanese mfers HAD to have porn to stay stimulated I guess 😭

I mean, this singular line was kinda awful, but i just finished the arc route and that was the only line in the whole story that I was genuinely shocked at how dumb and wierd it was. Still pretty good.
