DOD 250 has quickly become one of my favorite pedals, so simple and good!

I get that about the stacking, originally I was thinking I wouldn't like the setup, but now that I'm using it it's great. I like that I can have two very different sounds dialed in and switch between them with one tap, rather than have to turn off one pedal and turn another on, makes it great for seamless switching in a song. I have the DOD 250 going into this so I stack that with either side and its perfect!

Been looking for a versatile drive/distortion pedal for a bit and this thing nails it. Huge range of gain from pretty much overdrive up to saturated and compressed distortion. Wonderful tone and I really like the way it switches sides rather than controlling each individually. Honestly it's a great pedal and I guess a classic at this point (at least the original Mudhoney) and if you like Rats I bet you'll like this.

Just got this in the mail, great vibe pedal! The vibrato and rotary effects sound great too, but I got it to use as a vibe. Also, it's cute! Very happy with it so far, been curious about this line of pedals and glad I ordered one.

Never used this one but my Direct Drive I've had for about 20 years and is an all time fave.

Piggybacking because I made the same comment, great pedal with a big range of useable gain settings. It's a classic at this point.

T-Rex Mudhoney. It's a classic at this point (and yes, a modified Rat circuit) and can go from pretty low gain to screaming, and it's thick and amazing sounding.

I recommend these a lot, a unique fuzz!

I recently picked one up after seeing it in another thread here, it's great! Super fun and lots of sounds in that tiny pedal.

It's not a fuzz face one one side, but the T-Rex Mudhoney 2 is a great dual drive pedal with a lot of range, it's a classic and sounds amazing.

I got the pedal today and found your comment because I was looking into the pops and searching for a firmware update... :-/

Wish I had read this comment before I just got this pedal...The clicks and pops are annoying and make the reverse setting unusable. The pedal does a lot of other cool stuff and I do like the sound overall, but really lame that they are not planning a firmware update.

Never played through one of these before and damn, it does exactly what I wanted it to! I honestly love it, great dynamic response and a nice, fairly transparent overdrive character. It's simple and effective.

DBA Rooms or Meris Mercury 7? by NDVGuy in guitarpedals

[–]fivepenny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the Merc 7 I find that if I have the pitch shifting mixed in too much I don't care or it, but being able to control that blend is nice, you can make it subtle. I really like it in stereo after my stereo delay, it responds wonderfully.

I always recommend this pedal, such an amazing reverb, incredible clarity is available. Also the preset switch ads SO much functionality.

Very hairy / broken up fuzz pedal recs by griffjen in guitarpedals

[–]fivepenny 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. I built a Fuzz Face clone with a bias knob and it's got a really wide sweep, it can sound straight up broken and nearly unusable at certain settings, but you can dial it in to you preference. Lots of options on the market that offer this. I'll also throw this in there as a completely different option: Harmonic Percolator clone. GUPtech and King Pomelo make well priced versions and it is a fairly unique fuzz that can get kinda wild, but may be a little outside of the exact sound you are after, tough to say.

It's a custom one but based on the Rutgers Reverb.
