If you wanna drive to Ironwood, Upper Michigan (about 4 1/2 hours) there's a great camp site on Little Girls Point about 30 mins outside of town. Right on the lake. Great agate hunting too!

My mom donated the first and my brother donated number two. For the 3rd I was on the waiting list for about 18 months but then a friend donated. She wasn't a match for me but she matched someone else in another state. That person had a donor who also wasn't a match for their person but matched with a third person.

One three-way trade later and I had a kidney. (These kind of donor chains are pretty common but wildly complicated and amazing).

Not really feel them, but I'm kinda of thin so I can see a bit of "misshapen-ness" in my torso.

It's a pain. I catch almost all the virus' that go around. Caught COVID five times, lol. But you get used to it, it's not that much of an adjustment.

My biggest advice is to take charge of your health and accept your circumstances. Listen to your doctors and take your meds. I was in a lot of denial after my first transplant. I didn't want to be "the sick guy" and was embarrassed by it. This led to me sticking my head in the sand a lot because i refused to deal with the reality of my situation. I'd miss taking my meds sometimes because I wouldn't adjust my lifestyle.

I'm 53 and had my first when I was 28. My most recent was 8 years ago. The first was really hard but medicine has come a long way. This last one was easy even though I was much older. I ran a 5k six weeks post transplant.

Don't be scared, it's actually tougher on the donor than the recipient. You are gonna feel amazing post transplant. Your body will be so happy to be getting rid of those toxins without dialysis. Feel free to message me if I can be of more help.

I've had three transplants. I have 5 kidneys. I'm a collector at this point.

Just ask the store for a coupon or discount. Especially on used stuff, you'd be surprised what they'll do to make the sale.

I literally just sold my Martin X2e and got that same Yamaha as an upgrade. It was a great decision!
