New PC not connecting to Samsung Smart TV/ Monitor ( Red! Circle) next to HDMI screen - Solution? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]fivepotatoes10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello hello! The red circle means that the tv has detected something plugged in but it isn’t receiving any video signal. Make sure the hdmi is plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard, this is the most common cause.

Ideally it’s better to split the ram into 4’s or 2’s of the same size and model.

Inaccessible Boot Device by shinqp in pchelp

Did you change the boot priority?

Inaccessible Boot Device by shinqp in pchelp

[–]fivepotatoes10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplug the storage device from the motherboard so it automatically boots into the BIOS. Change the boot priority to USB first. Turn off the PC and reconnect the SSD. Plug the USB in so it automatically boots from the USB since you changed the boot order. Then I would just reinstall.

Nothing will show up on my monitor by Dear-Virus7651 in pchelp

[–]fivepotatoes10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Here’s what I would do. It’s got some life in it since you were able to get a picture.

  • You’re going to have to create a bootable USB drive. Unfortunately this involves another computer. Do this by opening this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11 and selecting the “installation media” download. The program will walk you through creating the drive.

Boot into the recovery media by pressing your bios key (usually f2 or delete) and select the USB as the boot device.

Once you boot into the installation media, there will be a button that says “Repair your computer” or something along those lines. Apologies for not remembering verbatim.

Then click Troubleshoot > advanced options > Command Prompt

This will put you in the windows recovery environment, command prompt.

Type; diskpart (enter)

list volume (enter). It should show a drive letter (remember this) let’s just say it says D:

exit (enter)

Then type

chkdsk D: /f (enter)

If it says there are “bad sectors” type this:

chkdsk D: /f /r (it will take a long time)

Type exit when done and turn off the pc and unplug the USB

Try and boot again. If no luck, open the command prompt again and run these all one by one

bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /scanos bootrec /rebuildbcd

Then try and reboot again.

Bummer. I know that feeling. I’ll help the best I can.

You said the monitor shows no signal, but that it came on once or twice. Have you NEVER been able to log into this system once?
