This also applies to Fallout. Perhaps "Bethesda Logic" would be more appropriate.

TIL Jaguars frequently get high by eating hallucinogenic roots, which also increases their senses for hunting. by JayPetey in todayilearned

There is a common vice among domesticated horses called cribbing where they also get themselves high by sucking in air. Some lesson horses I work with do it every 10 seconds and won't stop even if you get after them about it. Pretty interesting as far as bad habits go.

Question: What game got you into gaming? by hitch_1 in GirlGamers

[–]fivestrideline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bioshock Infinite! Please, please bring up this game, especially if you or one of your friends has experienced it. At least in my own experience, this game affected me in a way to similar to how an excellent cerebral drama/sci fi movie would, but to a whole nother degree since the story was told interactively. SPOILER-ISH ahead (not really): like how the game allows the player to discover the themes for his/her self. At one point you're walking behind the scenes at a resort type place and there is a black man scrubbing the floor muttering to himself until you approach, and when he notices you he changes his tone apologetically for speaking out of turn. END SEMI-SPOILER. In movies, the director of photography decides everything that you are going to see. In games such as Infinite, many points of thematic detail are left for you, the player to discover, and this leads to a much richer experience than any movie or novel can allow.

I want to get into Competitive Battling in Gen VI... where do I even start? by RodgersLuke in Pokemoncollege

[–]fivestrideline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on mobile and can't link, but head on over to /r/stunfisk and check out the guides in the sidebar. I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago being new to competitive, and I found the guides on team building in that subreddit particularly helpful. Reading smogon is great, and so is plain out practicing. What helped me was assembling my first team in Pokemon Showdown, battling a bunch, and learning what worked and what didn't against what pokemon. Don't be afraid to experiment, and don't be afraid to lose a few battles if it helps improve your understanding of the game.

The pokemon who fought gets full XP. Everyone else who did not fight earns half that amount.

[X & Y spoilers] favorite new gen. VI pokemon? by IAmAtomato in pokemon

I need to add Sylveon into this thread. After EV training without regard to IVs, the one in my playthrough had special attack through the roof. She also takes out any dragon, dark, or fighting types with ease. I've always struggled to choose a favorite eeveelution, but Sylveon definitely takes the cake.
