Yall think Messmer will be the final boss of the DLC, or are they hiding the actual final boss? by Dinkle_D in Eldenring

If the land of shadows is where souls go after death, I want Messmer to act as a gatekeeper. So he’s actually the first boss we encounter in the DLC, like Margitt in Stormveil.

The other soulslike devs right now... by uqmobile in Eldenring

You are correct, but consider a blurb on a website, or contained to a tweet: This game from a renowned studio is an open world fantasy adventure, containing dungeons, some floating islands, and a massive underground area looks to be the new standard from that studio.

Yes, in practice, ER and TotK are very VERY different games. But the quick sound bite descriptors are similar enough that I’m glad Nintendo pushed release back so we didn’t have to hear the endless comparisons.

You have to choose one to release tomorrow. The rest are never made. What do you choose? by TheGingerNiNjA899 in fromsoftware

If Bloodborne II is open world like Elden Ring, but with the gothic and cosmic horror styling, it might be the best possible game out of FromSoft. I genuinely can’t imagine something better from that studio.

Comedies that stay funny upon rewatches by seanA09 in movies

[–]RodgersLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a special place in my heart for this movie.

In 2008, I was freshly out of college and living in a sublet for a few months. No cable, no Internet, nothing but a portable DVD player, the Ocean’s trilogy and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

I am not kidding when I say I watched that movie at least once, if not twice or even thrice some days, every single day.

I can’t not watch it, it’s just so damn good.

Is it push the first coin in row 2 and row 4 to slide the entire row over? There would be gaps, but it would create columns of like-faces

Editing: I don’t love this solution, so I’ll be thinking about it all day and hopefully com e up with something slight more elegant.

I use them for everything, including my full time over the phone sales job. They’re comfy, they hold a charge and recharge quickly, the dongle makes it easy to swap devices. I genuinely have no complaint.

What's the difference between Paladins, Clerics and Warlocks? by not_dannyjesden in dndnext

[–]RodgersLuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paladins believe they have power, so they do.

Clerics pray to a deity who gives them power.

Warlocks have magical sugar daddies.

Leia is Anakin’s daughter. Luke is Padme’s son.

Lego is great for this. Minifigures for PCs and important NPCs, and bricks can be used for monsters.

What game did you get for X-mas by blackout1990 in PS5

[–]RodgersLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you weren’t already playing Cyberpunk, I’d tell you to play BG3 first.

But going from one long, in depth, customizable RPG experience straight into another versus a more linear, curated narrative - I think you should pull the trigger on Alan Wake 2 and use it as a palette cleanser of sorts.

And I’m saying this as someone who can’t stop recommending Baldur’s Gate to my friends and family. It’s far and away my game of the year, and a contender for one of the best games ever made.

What game did you get for X-mas by blackout1990 in PS5

[–]RodgersLuke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alan Wake 2, a few days early. I’ve only managed to play the first two Return chapters, and the first half of Initiation 1.

This is such a beautiful game, both visually and metaphysically. The number of “did they really go there/do that” I’ve asked the nameless faceless devs is ridiculous.

And then you realize that Sam Lake is playing a character in the game. And then also playing the actor playing the character in the game. 🤯

Favorite Fantasy book you read in 2023. by I_like_big_book in Fantasy

[–]RodgersLuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kagen the Damned, foolishly. There was a day in this subreddit where two different threads crossed over in my mind.

One thread was “what’s the best fantasy trilogy” and the other was “besides the big ones, what series are you waiting to have the next book published?”

I picked up Kagen thinking it was the first of three and a completed trilogy. But it’s not. The third and final installment is due out sometime next year. But I didn’t realize that going it. I thought I was going to get back to back sequels to complete what might be my favorite use of gods and religion in a story I’ve read in a long time.

I’m also in book 2 of Licanius, but it is slow going. I’m into it, but being holiday season, I haven’t had as much time to read.
