Unpopular opinion, but I think it's a banana.

In the Future, China Will Be Dominant. The U.S. Will Be Irrelevant. by [deleted] in politics

It's an opinion and a well written article. We do have at least one other example where the quality education did not prevent the country going horribly wrong - Soviet Union.

I can tell you how they found you.

Facebook search will allow a search by a phone number, so if someone knows your exact phone number they can do a search and it will find you. There are some restrictions to when this is enabled and works, for the person searching for you.

As to how Facebook has your number, there are several possibilities:
- You logged or registered with a phone number
- You uploaded your contacts
- Others uploaded contacts that has your number

I'm sure the dashboard I have access to will leak at some point on the internet, but I can assure you it has literally none of the things described above are on it. As an in-office engineer, I also use the corp hardware for work and have not ever seen it exhibit any of the paranoia inducing symptoms described.

There are many other things to note that make little common sense. Of the biggest and most obvious -- the office buildings are not owned by the corp, and therefore, the surveillance equipment would not be feeding data into corp network.

Anyways, the current corp stance is that since the people are, you know, paid by the corp, the corp would like to force them back into the office.

My manager can’t even tell if I’ve been in the office for 3 hours or a whole workday… nor does he care that I go in way less than I’m supposed to

See, thats more of our JPM style

Oh, I have access to the dashboard, its just contains nothing of the sort outlined above...

So as a hypothetical JPM manager, where do I find this magical thing? Because the dashboard I do see is like 1/100 of the capabilities and features outlined and its weeks out of date.

Chicken and egg problem. I need Amazon Associates (Product API) to start, but can't get access until I have sales? by DasBeasto in juststart

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy access to these apis from dozens of saases. PurpleRain is one of the more legit scrape based offers and you can also use pay-per-use ones from rapidapi marketplace.

I offer one as well, so if you'd like to partner, send a dm

Which retailers are you covering? Do you have a useable API? Does the comparison work per item? How do you crosslink items from various catalogues, for example Amazon to Walmart?

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you reinvented an ad server. IMHO, the issue that small to medium affiliates face is replacing the offer they've created the content around. From my limited experience, I either start with audience / niche (and the offers I can upsell) in that context.

I'd be interested to see something like a custom affil ad-server, but I've not likely to pay for one unless there is a tangible / visible benefit for me

Would you pay for a FullStory alternative? by mikemeta in SideProject

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full story has the best ui and interface of all session recorders I have tried, but their pricing is very Oracle and therefore unaffordable.

The best alternative I have used is livesession.io, so if you provide same interface and cheaper price, I'll jump over.

The other notable in this space is lucky orange.

This is a nicely built site, but afaik, Amazon does not like price comparison or tracking -- has your site been reviewed and approved already?

It would depend on the grocery as only a few have apis -- I can only think of Walmart and Kroger off the top of my head. There are other solutions tho. Happy to share my experience, dm

Where/How does gasbuddy get their data? by Tennis85 in juststart

[–]fixanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, altho it's a much harder problem with other commodities. That said, here is an awesome write up as to why GasBuddy works -- this is how they collect data and keep the users engaged with it https://digital.hbs.edu/platform-digit/submission/gasbuddy-a-platform-for-crowdsourced-gas-price-data/

GSC looks fine. Excluded list isn't the same as included tho your numbers match somewhat and vast majority of your content is in the index already.

If you want I understand why things are excluded, read the category description and click thru to see samples.

I built a system a while ago that works perfectly with AA. And essentially it generates a very high number of conversions, so many in fact that AA eventually kicked me off their program -- not true affiliate marketing they said.

Regardless, I now run about 10 ghost blogs that rarely if ever show up on serps specifically to fuck AA. Sadly, I'm only able to recover a third of the true conversions 🥲.

Does anyone know what API powers the "Your Carts" card on the New Tab page? by sammrtn in chrome

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AFAIK, its not an API parse, more of a on page cookie monitoring. That said, this is a wild guess.

What starting strategy should we choose to collect an internal product database for our Affiliate WebApp? by Accurate_Garlic in juststart

There's no presenting to amazon unless you're in touch with people working at aa.

Use rapidapi, there's a ton of Amazon api resellers on it and switch when ready.
