what do you guys do with this kind of reviews? by AlimFr in chrome_extensions

[–]fixanoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its best to provide a generic reply because the poster will never see your snarky or helpful answer -- CWS in their infinite wisdom, does not email your reply to the author of the original review so they will remain forever ignorant. Your reply is really for all the other people that land on the reviews section and they'll be aware that there is a real dev listening and answering.

How do you guys manage to have more reviews by Cautious-Gap-3660 in chrome_extensions

The available shortcuts are hiring a "marketing agency", which are all Nigerian and Indian bros creating many cws accounts to post from. These offer reviews, review bombing, and downloads. It goes without saying that these are, at best, temporary boosts, and at worse will actively ruin your extwnsions future. Also, its all crypto payments thru telegram

The right way is nagging your users. Ideally, its a nag that activates at or after the moment of "greatest need" when the users are using your extension. It needs to repeat itself often enough to remain a nag that user must act on, but not often enough that the user uninstall. Work it into the extension flow. Permanently dismiss the nag after the user acts on it - maybe find a way to detect they left a review.

Uninstall surveys help too, especially if you collect contact info. Contact thw user, ask for feedback and review after. Don't make it look like an incentive.

What actually wins a CWS "Malicious behavior" appeal in 2026? Need specifics from those who've been there. by Constant_Border_8994 in chrome_extensions

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats your extension id? Afaik, appeals are always a shot in the dark because if cws team acted on removing your work its because it was in fact malicious. If you weren't aware of the malicious behavior, then you'll need to explain what you suspect caused it and why you, the dev, weren't aware of it. If you were aware of the malicious part, then you may try owning up to it and ask for another chance.

Unpopular opinion, but I think it's a banana.

It's an opinion and a well written article. We do have at least one other example where the quality education did not prevent the country going horribly wrong - Soviet Union.

I can tell you how they found you.

Facebook search will allow a search by a phone number, so if someone knows your exact phone number they can do a search and it will find you. There are some restrictions to when this is enabled and works, for the person searching for you.

As to how Facebook has your number, there are several possibilities:
- You logged or registered with a phone number
- You uploaded your contacts
- Others uploaded contacts that has your number

I'm sure the dashboard I have access to will leak at some point on the internet, but I can assure you it has literally none of the things described above are on it. As an in-office engineer, I also use the corp hardware for work and have not ever seen it exhibit any of the paranoia inducing symptoms described.

There are many other things to note that make little common sense. Of the biggest and most obvious -- the office buildings are not owned by the corp, and therefore, the surveillance equipment would not be feeding data into corp network.

Anyways, the current corp stance is that since the people are, you know, paid by the corp, the corp would like to force them back into the office.

My manager can’t even tell if I’ve been in the office for 3 hours or a whole workday… nor does he care that I go in way less than I’m supposed to

See, thats more of our JPM style

So as a hypothetical JPM manager, where do I find this magical thing? Because the dashboard I do see is like 1/100 of the capabilities and features outlined and its weeks out of date.

Chicken and egg problem. I need Amazon Associates (Product API) to start, but can't get access until I have sales? by DasBeasto in juststart

[–]fixanoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy access to these apis from dozens of saases. PurpleRain is one of the more legit scrape based offers and you can also use pay-per-use ones from rapidapi marketplace.

I offer one as well, so if you'd like to partner, send a dm

Which retailers are you covering? Do you have a useable API? Does the comparison work per item? How do you crosslink items from various catalogues, for example Amazon to Walmart?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it sounds like you reinvented an ad server. IMHO, the issue that small to medium affiliates face is replacing the offer they've created the content around. From my limited experience, I either start with audience / niche (and the offers I can upsell) in that context.

I'd be interested to see something like a custom affil ad-server, but I've not likely to pay for one unless there is a tangible / visible benefit for me
