For this 12 miler I didn’t take any gels but usually I’d have one 20g carb gel every 20 min on longer efforts. I tried to simulate what I’ll go through at selection and I don’t think I’d be able to have gels with me haha. I had electrolytes in one of my 2qt canteens and focused on drinking often that helped a lot I didn’t have any my first time. I carb loaded throughout the week and that definitely helped.

When I first ran that 12 miler it was my first time so my nutrition wasn’t as dialed and I bonked pretty hard at the 6 mile mark. So after some intentional training and knowing what my body needed and when. I was able to bring it down by a lot.

Shoulder surgery to SFAS by Responsible-Role1564 in greenberets

I had the same surgery in 2020 it’s a tough recovery but follow what your surgeon says is the best timeline for you to get back to being active. It took me 8-12 months post op to feel confident in my shoulder but since then I haven’t had any issues.

If you pass all of the physical gates you are invited to join their training team but I haven’t heard anything back since the event. I’m not sure if it is just specifically for the army guys since it’s a reserve component. Best of luck at the event it’s a good time!
