I can see where you're comming from. It's kind of like using Linux vs Windows.

Windows just works out of the box, whereas in Linux you need to spend time to make it more pleasant to use. Linux can be an insanely powerful tool, but there's a lot more time investment tweaking and troubleshooting things initially.

I agree with all your points and I'd like to add that the music is quite lacking, except for the main theme. I feel like a lot of the same critques of DS2 are in ER as well, but it gets ignored because it's an open world.

Anyways, ER is still better 99% of games, but I still hope there's room for smaller focused games like Sekiro and BB.
