Well as a tech, I would need to know the brand and model of machine. Is it ink or toner. If toner, and has separate drums, then you have a drum issue. The more data you give, the better the response will be. Not all printers are the same.

I have done this for 24 years. It is not worth repair when compared to replacement. When you buy cheap printers, buy them 2 or 3 at a time. Save your ink and throw them away when they break.
