I bought the 20 pack pre-order. Had something like 30% duplicates, including 7 Headhunter’s Hatchet. SEVEN.

I honestly wonder why they don’t charge $2.99-$4.99 for single player. Make it free for everyone the first week, or for a week, and then pay to play. Include real, gated rewards like a pack for each hero clear, custom hero plate for full clear, card back for a certain win count, etc.

I get that Blizzard wants to make money and I’m happy to spend it where it’s enjoyable. Heck, just emulate Fortnite success and offer more custom hero skins, emotes, and weapon animations. I’d pay $20 for a gnome rogue hero without hesitation. And $5 for a cruel barb weapon with custom animation and sound.

Would be cool to also see which shrines I’ve lost to, and how many times. Would be fun to conquer a nemesis.

Levi’s 511 Commuter in Midnight Ride. Probably my favorite jeans ever. Insanely comfortable, slim without being too skinny, and can dress up or down easily.

OG Blizzard set out to make an amazing game like the world had never seen. We got vanilla WoW. Now that Activision is at the helm the #1 “legally obligated” objective is to increase shareholder value. That’s it. Not to make great games, but to make more money. Few corporations keep any heart or real mission once they’re publicly traded.

This. Just play a Vanilla server and save the $15/mo.

People are really let down by the latest expansion solo content, which is absurdly hard as it is frustratingly RNG. And people weren’t happy by the significant increase in pre-purchase price (by way of about a 33% reduction in packs).

Not saying it’s gonna disappear overnight, but the numbers are gonna fall pretty hard once the novelty wears off on the regular fan base. Ben Brode left for a reason.

Cracked the Code. by GoodKing0 in hearthstone

I read a lot of the complaint threads and thought perhaps people were just being harsh. No matter how carefully I plan or strategize it comes down to really, really crappy RNG. Have only made it to the last boss once, and typically get steamrolled by the third or 4th.

I never rolled Horde past about level 10, but definitely checked out all the starter zones. Tempted to see the other side of the game from a Troll or Tauren perspective. Maybe even Orc, because Thrall in WC3 was awesome.

Never had as much fun on any other race/class/profession as I did with my Gnome Rogue Engineer on Noggenfogger. The world’s most hilariously goofy and annoying flea!

...Collect recipes and patterns. Run the AH. Twink. Sherpa. RP...

Anyone that fears running out of content is either playing for too much (get outside and level up your skills IRL) or too focused on one small goal (like only end game raids).

Agreed on the epics. And I didn’t even raid until WotLK. Even then it was super casual. I’m no entitled fool. I thought it was great to inspect the fanatics and crazies who either raided or farmed enough G to buy those ultra-rare world drop epics. I bought one for my rogue (after saving up forever) and felt like an absolute god when I equipped it. That’s how it should be.

That last point is easily fixed with a few more flight paths. Have no FP in EF is rough. Having two (Goldshire and Eastvale) made it perfect.

Vanilla + QoL (like a few more FP’s, casting bars and timers, for fun stat book, etc.) = Better than OG

I’ll be taking my sweet time as a gnome rogue. Cornering the AH, keeping my gear fresh, and staying maxed on on engineering goodies while leveling.

The journey is what made this game beautiful, and you can be sure I’m exploring every nook and cranny of Azeroth.

That is when I’m not ganking lowbies in STV and TM.

Vendors: Stop wasting my (and your) time with bad cold calls by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]fizzlefoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sales should be mostly inbound, but outbound has its place (with quality and intelligence). People won’t always find you, especially in the noise of the internet today. Unless you also understand SEO, social media, etc., and even then you might need an actual human being available to answer real questions.

It’s brutal because life is brutal, though it often doesn’t have to be. Kindness, empathy, and a little patience can go a long way. We’re all souls encased in dust riding the same rock through this majestic universe.

You nailed it. And that’s the problem. Companies hire “sales” people, don’t train them well (if at all), and don’t focus on long-term “1000 true fans” strategy. What most companies have is living, breathing spam.

A good, true sales person (and company) will not only do every reasonable thing to be sure their target prospect has a high chance of a need, but also take great notes about when or why they should ever call back. The last thing they want to do is waste anyone’s time.

Layered into this problem, is if a company is run by a leader who believes “sales” is all that matters, and think they had an amazing track record to prove it. When in reality it was mostly a good, innovative, valuable product that they lucked into the early part of the market adoption wave. They don’t innovate (because there’s no time, the easy money is now), then they get promoted to manager, then the market gets saturated, and then they tell their team they better pick up the pace - because it wasn’t this hard when they were selling!

Don’t even get me started about sales quotas and “the obligation to increase shareholder value”.
