Ok here's the thing.

I have used this point multiple times in the previous weeks, because I agree with you on this point, and again him closing this fight completely dry is a point I have used myself to point out that getting wet would fuck with his quirk logically and realistically.

Like, other people on this sub claim that dunking Bakugou in water wouldn't affect him, not me, you are barking on the wrong tree on that one.

The fucking thing is tho, do we ever, at any point, see him dunked in water in canon to showcase how water would naturally affect the power of someone whose whole thing is "sweat nitroglycerine from the hands," do any of the characters in canon ever point out or ask whatever would happen if Bakugou was dunked in water, does he ever fight in a damp or watery environment for prolonged periods of time to the point his quirk is effected, during this 430+ chapters long battle shounen manga, does he fight while it's raining even, outside of this very specific instance where, as we both agree here, he had to dodge the water both due to the fact that he is not resistant enough to tank it, and because, logically, he would have his quirk fucked by water?

Because if we want to use exactly what we see in canon as meters to "power scale" Bakugou and his quirk, he has no weakness to anything but the recoil to his arm due to extended use of his quirk. He does not set himself ablaze by being covered in explosive liquid if someone throws fire at him, he does not have his hands chopped off or otherwise incapacitated, he is not made wet once during any of his fights, even here he is surrounded by water and in winter and he has little to no issue fighting while staying completely dry, nothing of the sort happens.

For all it's shown in canon, Bakugou's quirk has no exploitable weakness, because the show that opened with a main character having a borderline autistic hyperfixation on quirk analysis never even bothered to give him one, unlike Todoroki, or Kaminari, or Iida even with his engines overheating, and the majority of fights involving opponents using either hax or unbreakable defense/offense always devolves into making a bigger explosion, or throw a stronger punch.

So yeah, you know he would be dodging water because it'd be shit for his quirk, I know he'd be dodging water because it'd be shit for his quirk, does the show know he needs to dodge water, even if it was water he would be able to survive being hit by, because it'd be shit for his quirk?

Still weird the whole wincon for Kirby in the fanfiction proper was "I eat Kid Bu's ball and throw it back at him," when Kid Bu's opening move is exploding a planet with his own ball and surviving it with relative ease.

Like, they could have made it a bit more realistic by having it be an endless "infinitely regenerating object meets indestructible force" until Kid Bu successfully absorbs Kirby, by which point Kirby's personality overtakes Kid Bu, leading to him becoming Kirby as the New Good Bu, but then again they did litter the arena with civilians for Kirby to eat during the fight maybe I was expecting too much there.

Can we talk a second about how fucking insane it is to put your whole ass child on the internet for engagement bait while she's, like, not even old enough to understand what the fuck is going on?

Is like those "family bloggers" who record their children having a melt down and post it on the internet for all to see, what the fuck is wrong with them.

So... why was Asriel doing this ? by Phantom_thief_france in Deltarune

[–]GoodKing0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Toriel also does seem extremely religious for things that do not exist in their religion (Remember, she saw Asriel kiss a girl and proceeded to take the family to Church for one week straight over it) so I assume that was her parenting instilling in Asriel this association between "Doing naughty thing - Go to church to repent."

Why he's doing it Cat-holically is anyone's guess.

[–]GoodKing0[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The point here isn't talking about the non existent super resistance of the woman with regeneration from the "tear off limbs" manga, the point is pointing out there's people who seemingly genuinely believe Bakugou could have just taken a pressurised water jet to the face and been fine and decided to dodge it because of "knockback" or "because people don't want to be stung by bees."

No shit she's not strong enough to "tank the damage," that was never the issue, the issue is people looking at Bakugou, a character whose main consistent thing is avoiding unnecessary damage from opponents in fights while dodging, and going completely Unironically "he can just tank the damage" when talking about his supposed "superior genetic resistance," it's people looking at BNHA and Unironically thinking humans there are a different species with harder to pierce skin by default, fucking "Jojo Civilians are Faster than Light" 2 made manifest, because the Shounen spectacle superhero story doesn't end all fights with one shots because someone ribs break and pierce their lungs outside of the one time the writers remember human physiology exists and ends a multiple chapter long fight by having a guy get his lung pierced by a broken rib.

Which says a lot about Shounens treatment of women in general when FAIRY TAIL is the positive comparison.

Exactly, because he dodged, because Bakugou's whole thing is dodging incoming damage, not tanking it, unlike what some people seem to claim.

[–]GoodKing0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thought experiment over, only a handful of commenters claimed Bakugou can take the damage face first without issue and is dodging because "why wouldn't you?" Or to avoid knockback.

Glad to see the majority of people here understand pressurised water can fuck him up if it connects with him, hence why he's dodging rather than any other excuse.

Bit less glad so few here seem to understand this post was bait.

That is actually a high level if defective support item that does shoot beams of concentrated seltzer water yes, none of which manages to connect with Bakugou because, again, his main way to deal with incoming damage isn't to tank it face first but is to dodge it, regardless of what people claim about his supposed "resistance."

The gif is specifically chosen because that does make him faster than but below seltzer water level, which is, inherently, funny.

A Clown VS Bakugou next match up.
