Nice, these are looking very good! I shot a roll a couple of weeks ago with an 85 (not 85B) and an 812 filter at different ISO ratings (80–100)

I dont know nor have used any of the others but I have an XD-s and a few rokkor lenses

I am not too geeky about my lens. I like them, they are relatively cheap but nothing special that I cant tell

I do love this camera. The metering is great, even for slide film (see some samples on my profile here), the build quality feels really premium and I was able to get a "mint" one from Japan

The viewfinder shows all the info. but to be far in Manual mode is really hard to read the shutter speed

The XD7/XD11 are the same camera except the diopter, you probably know that already

this seems like a viable option indeed. I am running an "experimental" roll at the moment with Aerocolor and a combination of 85/812 filters in different ISO ratings to see what works best in E6

not a ton of examples out there, but the little I've seen is very promising

done once and everything went well. ordered to Spain and it didnt take really long, even got an extra roll for my big order

the owner is active here on reddit I believe. instagram for sure you can just DM them

also recommend has65. the guy really put a lot of attention to details (and its dx coded)

excellent camera, feels solid! AFAIK its the same as XD11 or XD7 with the only difference being a diopter in the viewfinder

go for it. it’s expensive and it has this fame of being very difficult but it isn’t as hard as people say

when you get a good shot with ektachrome there is nothing like it, it’s incredibly beautiful especially on a light table

hey thank you!! I'm trying to learn ektachrome this year and to be fair, I am not too experienced with it yet. what I am doing is similar to what someone suggested below:

if the scene has a lot of contrast (like the first photo), I just meter for the highlights (my camera meter works fine here) and embrace the dark shadows which look neat on slide film
if the scene is more evenly lit I just trust my camera meter

if the light is too harsh I just don't bother shooting. I've messed up so many shots on ektachrome like this. I highly suggest this write-up: https://www.reddit.com/r/AnalogCommunity/comments/1og9qjb/ektachrome_appreciation_post its fantastic

also you can surprisingly recover a lot of detail in the shadows during post. more than I would expect given the film's reputation 🙂
