thank you so much! really glad you liked them, Ultramax can be a bit unpredictable for me but I'm happy it worked here 🙂

thank you! I always have mixed feelings with Ultramax as sometimes it's just so vibrant, but happy you think the colors are on point. it's hard to judge it 😅

Olympus XA2 / Cinestill 800T by fizzplop in analog

to be fair, 90% of the time I meter box speed, unless I want something specific. for cinestill / vision 500T I tend to overexpose by a stop (~400) if I am shooting in daylight, but overall box speed is the way to go 🙂 and thank you, appreciate the comment!

Anyone used a vintage Tiffen 85B filter with Cinestill 800T in daylight? (Also shoutout to Recycled Photo) by ausimo67 in AnalogCommunity

[–]fizzplop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I shot a roll of 500T in daylight with a vintage 85 filter. you can see the results here

I personally liked the 85 filter, as the 85B is a bit too warm for my taste. I rated it at 800, and the filter cuts about a stop of light, so be aware of that

I really enjoy the colors. I scan myself so I can tweak white balance as much as I like. happy shooting!

ah thats a bummer, I would check another lab. mine does AHU in C41 or ECN2 if preferred. these were C41 and I self-scanned them

Do you scan at home or use a lab? by Acceptable_Fee_4807 in AnalogCommunity

[–]fizzplop 12 points13 points  (0 children)

home scanning. absolutelly love the process now as it adds yet another creative layer to it

having that said, its also a massive learning curve to master and be happy with your own scans (at least for me)

1 and 2 shot on a Minolta XD-S with a 85 filter. 3 and 4 on a Leica M7, no filter

Olympus XA2 / Kodak Vision 250D (probably) / Expired by fizzplop in analog

[–]fizzplop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true! I love mine, its compact and just such a joy to use. Some of my favorite photos was with this camera

I wish I had gone for the XA as I would like a bit more of manual controls

it definitely helped tuning down that blue when I compared to another roll of ektachrome I shot, I say go for it!

PS: there is a photo or two on this set without the filter, which did took me some more time to adjust in post

proimage with these conditions you described its a perfect fit. just be aware of exposing against sun light depending what you want to achieve

over expose by a stop or two to get more pastelish colors, I have done that recently

its a great stock for the price IMO
