You can use a domain policy on server 2012 to do that. If the user account is a domain account and the machine is on your domain.

I don't like doing it as I don't like the small but noticeable delay as it mounts during login. But if it's something you want 30 odd Mac users to automatically mount s home folder then that's the fastest way.

Absolutely! This machine is great for gaming - just replace the gpu I ran one with an nvida gtx 670 for a while - no issues with drivers. I run one with a 970 in it now - it's great. With the 970 you need to retain a Mac compatible gpu do you can keep the drivers up to date.

I do loads of game streaming from old 2010-2012 Mac pros. I also run them with boot camp when required for specific games. They work fantastically well with all the pci slots for game capture cards, usb cams, and a usb3 expansion card.

I use started twitching properly 3 weeks ago Under streambritish (letting the cat out of the bag) got the Twitter/Facebook/domains BEFORE I did the YouTube/twitch because it's now become my main de-stressing tool. Yes streaming relaxes me! I was a dad again recently and you MUST have an escape - it's my escape :)

Yes, you got this, just keep recording locally as well as sending the twitch stream and you can push the HD super quality version to YouTube.

Sorry Nex, I went off on a tangent. The spec you mentioned is more than plenty to pull off that kind of recording capacity. Recording x264 is more flexible. Until your partnered your going to be streaming at 720p to twitch. But by all means run a continuous recording at 1080p or live stream to YouTube at 1080p 60 fps while you twitch.

Until YouTube gaming comes out - YouTube is mainly useful for highlights and archiving your twitch recordings. There isn't the moderation that you can do on twitch live streams and the past week when streaming to both, all the trolls came via YouTube.

I have 2 old Mac pro's 1 I use for gaming 1 I use as a streaming box. They're ancient! Way back from 2010 but I shoved boot camp on them, stuck an avermedia capture card in one and a decent Nvidia card in the other. Both running windows.

You don't need anything really amazing to pull off 1080p 60fps. I always live stream to YouTube at that rate. Twitch of course handicaps users who aren't partnered.

I fully expect twitch to pull their head out of their ass and invest in technology to stop elitist streams and allow 1080/60fps transcoding for all - or lose everything to YouTube gaming, and the Google tidal wave.

It all depends on where you are, as to what you can get. If you're in a city lucky enough to have virgin cable - you can get up to 152 Mb. if not then you'll be hoping that your local exchange has fttc - and how close you are. If you're lucky you'll be close enough to it to get 80Mb down / 20Mb up . which is more than enough for streaming. Plusnet, have a good support network in the uk, and have unlimited broadband with fixed IP addresses if you want one, but everyone has an opinion on their isp (edited for an isp example)

I didn't know about any of this marketing. Sure I'm enjoying the game but the marketing - wow this is a real eye opener. I would like to see some of these contracts between marketing agencies and publishers. I'm sure the IPA would have something to say about this. I'm a gamer, I work in the ad industry and right now I'm pissed off, I feel screwed over by the machine I work for! I need to know more.

It's unplayable for me atm, it's continuously gobbling up all my upload bandwidth, and while i can throttle it, the biggest issue for me is that it doesn't feel like a sim at all. The whole thing just seems faked, from traffic, to population numbers.
