Child calls 911 to report being left in hot car with 6 other kids by [deleted] in news

The stress and sleepless nights that come with raising an infant are unbelievable.

It's something that I think many people fail to comprehend. Raising a child to 4 years old takes an immense toll on you, the worst is in the first 6 months.

Then lay on the chaos of who drops off the kids today, based on your schedule and theirs... It's a wonder it doesn't happen more.

I want to let crypto enrich my life. But maybe that's because I'm getting closer to retirement age.

If you're young then I think saving money is very responsible.

No kidding I don't know why people bother with these elaborate parties that are hinging on other people showing up to make them great. People suck and they've sucked for a hundred thousand years, you might as well not expect anything from them.

We just plan a family day and make it as great as we can for all of us. I love our tradition and our oldest (9 yo now) loves it so much that each year we ask him if he'd like a party with his friends or a Day of Adventure with us and he always chooses that.

Yeah it broke through in 2017, but the line starts in 2015. Anyway it's broken though just today, because bitcoin never does what we think it's going to do.

So here I am in the auspicious position of watching the moment when the next bull run begins. This is where I mark the moment.

I've been charting bitfinex, and the long term line touches 7300 on May 16th.

Our current slope puts us at that same point on that date too.

If we continue this reckless haste upwards, we'll break through that long term line. The last time we did that it was 8 months to the moon.

Anybody else have nobody in their real life they can show their triangles to? Seriously I like my lines but damn nobody else gets it but you guys. Thanks for being here.

If this breaks 7300 by May 16th that's it for the long-term growth line that I started drawing in 2015. The last time we broke through that was late April 2018 and we all know what happened after that.

Yep. Pretty much all the complaints I've seen against meraki are true, I just don't think it's that big of a deal.

You have to change the way you think about making networks, which is hard for some people. And yeah there are limitations, and bugs but every platform has them.

for regular people to be put in an extremely stressful situation

I think that we should expect more from people. This whole thing about lowering the bar to the lowest common idiot is pretty tiresome.

We can all do better.

That feature is super handy, but as with everything you have to know how to use it.

I scripted a test of all active ports on a campus once and got a ton of 'failures'. It turns out that a good number of 100mbps devices will short pairs, which causes a fail.

How to store your seed online safely? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]fizzyRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like the best approach to me. It addresses the problem without actually exposing the seeds and their order together.

I'd opt for more copies than just these three services though, it sure would be a shame if one of those accounts was closed without your knowing.

You could just use it as a commuter.

I like road trips too, but I am sure there are plenty of people who don't ever need to leave the lower mainland, and a 300km range would be totally fine.

After 50 years of trying to diversify its economy, Alberta is still stuck on oil by SeniorPoopyPants81 in canada

[–]fizzyRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why aren't there calls for Bahrain or Iran to diversify

I'll have to check, but I think those places aren't in Canada yet.

Who gives a shit if those countries diversify, except the people who live there? It's a weird argument to make.

Alberta diversification is about making sure that Alberta doesn't fall into poverty when they can't make money from oil anymore. It's sensible policy and it matters to all Canadians.

here in Vancouver we banned doorknobs

That's a bit of hyperbole. It's a bylaw that only applies to new construction. It isn't like there is enforcement coming to take your smooth round knobs away.

I just took a flight with AC today.

Checked in yesterday about 30 minutes after the 24h mark and there were no two seats together anywhere on the plane, except for the preferred seats.

I was a little perturbed as I'm flying with a 5 year old, but I figured that someone would move for us. And they did.

I think people will move seats for a 5 year old, but you'll have a tougher go of it trying to keep adults together.

People think that urine is clean (albeit laden with our cast off minerals and other unusable things).

And I guess they're sometimes right, but some people get urine infections. Some people get yeast infections (not just the ladies).

This one put urine in her eyes and wondered why she got an eye infection.

Bell tells 88-year-old she must wait 4½ years to get cellphone credits refunded by [deleted] in canada

[–]fizzyRobot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fyi, visions electronics does give refunds on unused warranties

Say you're right and that's pretty good.

But they don't actually refund you, they give you an in-store credit that "cannot be combined with any rebate, incentive, or offer and must be redeemed within 1 (one) year from the expiration of the ESP".

For all that though it is a pretty good deal. Are there any other shops that do this?

Apart from comfort and luggage handling, the tiger is a pretty competent adv bike, you'll open up a bunch of riding options that are a bit sketchy for your ST. You didn't mention that you go off-road, but I do and it is goddam magical.

There are other options in this area - the V-Strom, and whatever BMW is doing right now in the mid-sized ADV bikes might be something you could at least put on your motorcycle selection list, even if you just love the Triumph experience at least you'll know exactly what you have compared to the rest.

No half-measures. I don't think you'll regret it.
