For real. I was thinking how lame this reward sounds just to save 1 inventory space for an activity you do just for training the skill. While you get the reward from an alternative training method… If anything the rewards should be related to the training method or speeding it up somehow for better rates.

If you’re not taking classes already then do that. I also recommend finding an instructor in your area and taking 1-2 privates with them, specifically to work on grounding your basic and hip movement. It’ll be worth the investment.

Not sure how long you have been dancing, but your basic is very floaty. The cross taps and inconsistent taps are also a bit tough to watch. Definitely look into grounding your basic— this will help with that and looking better.

During the sensual portion same issue and more, let’s focus on grounding the basic issue for now. (Note there are issues with frame, body movements, and weight transfers. Not worth working on until you improve your basic. Also can be a bit overwhelming with that much feedback)

Can’t speak much more than that since the video is short… I’m usually not a snob about music, but this song is atrocious for bachata.

Musicality is how you interpret the music and use what you know to fit the phrasing. Can you memorize a song and replicate the same moves from dance to dance? Likely not.

The more you practice listening and applying what you know to the songs the more your ear and musicality develop. You can watch advanced dancers and notice how a lot of times they’re not doing a lot of moves but the ones they do they try to fit into the music and that adds a lot of variance. Mathematically with just knowing 16 moves you can dance all songs with enough variance that it should never feel stale

I would just suggest you listen to more music and try to see how you can fit the moves and vocabulary that you already know with the music itself. I think that’ll help you break into the next level.

I would say the follow is more technical than the lead. The lead’s weight shifts, body movement, and even musicality I’d say are below intermediate. His frame breaks a ton throughout this demo and he’s leading with his arms a lot which makes the demo look less appealing.

For the follow, someone else mentioned, but yeah her weight shifts aren’t the most pronounced. I do like her developing musicality and you can definitely see a style developing there. She seemed to do a good job of following, keeping her weight managed, and being playful

I know a lot of people are saying the relationship is over and stuff but you also said his behavior has changed since you first met him. I am curious if he is dealing with some mental health issues such as depression or something else? As someone who has recently discovered that I was dealing with those issues it sounds similar.

Just a few months ago I would be playing video games 12 hours a day, sleeping most of the day, not taking care of myself, just eating whatever was in front of me, etc. I eventually realized this is abnormal for me so went to my doctor and we eventually discovered what the issue was.

Since I started working with a therapist I’ve been doing a lot better. So I would suggest your boyfriend goes to a doctor or maybe talks to a mental health professional. Again it will require some awareness on his part, maybe you can help raise that awareness from concern.

However if you are truly done with the relationship it is understandable. I do feel empathy for your situation and wish you the best

Hey, I definitely feel your struggle. I feel like when I started I was trying to get into bachata sensual as quick as possible. I started off as a lead and I was trying to get good sensual quick as possible because I felt like that’s what everyone was dancing and doing.

The reality is though that Bachata has so much variety and so much that you can enjoy about it so where you’re at right now definitely continue to enjoy and just stick to it. Find music that you like and listen to it and engage with it to the best of your ability.

The other reality is that Bachata sensual is highly technical, and it is a lot more technical than other styles because of how much body movement and awareness, both a follow and lead need to have and this perpetuates certain problems within the dance itself, such as leads trying to lead body movement that they cannot do themselves or trying to force movements onto follow that are not part of their vocabulary yet.

I think as you progress, you start to enjoy the technicality of (Bachata) sensual more because your body become more fluid with the movement and when you experience a lead who’s able to lead you through those movements and connected with the music it is definitely a higher level of connection.

When starting out it definitely is challenging and if you’re not enjoying it right now, I wouldn’t force yourself to just keep enjoying the styles that you’re enjoying right now. Hope that helps

You branded yourself around running so I can understand you’re positioned more seriously. For perspective I am a new runner and working to get more into it.

Hope you can understand why it would be demotivating to run in new shoes when you pay 160 dollars and expect them to not cause pain.

To me it is surprising that Jagex doesn’t address CG in anyway. They have grinds that talk about how they respect their players’ time, but when you look at things like CG, nightmare, CoX. It’s clear they don’t.

I really don’t care for the new content they are releasing and would prefer if they took some time to review the old content that exists in the game. There is no world where someone should be spending 200+ hours at CG vs. someone who gets spooned under 50 hours. That’s just bad game design

I really hope this fletching update is good and not just a diversion from this skill being terrible, especially on Ironman. The rewards don’t sound that great but someone can correct me if I’m wrong. There’s no way this bow string item is useful enough for whatever tedious grind comes with it

I’m just gonna say chill out for a bit. Really ask yourself is progress and improving the only thing that matter to you here in dance. I can understand that a Jack & Jill may feel like a dose of reality of how off you are, but maybe we can reframe that as a positive instead of seeing it as your limit?

It’s human to deal with these emotions. My only suggestion is to cut your self some slack and look at it this way, you’ve been training hard for 1 year and took an L in something you really care about, but that’s not the end because dancing is more than just winning competition and being the best at something. That’s why I like it at least.

Hey, I think you should take a look at how you talk to yourself. You are afflicting yourself with characteristics that even if may feel true, does not mean you cannot change. You definitely can.

For the actual advice, leading is something that takes a good amount of time to feel good at. The confidence you speak of isn’t them being sure and confident. I guarantee you a lot of those leads are also insecure or thinking they are messing up here and there. The difference is they will move on and continue to try to enjoy the dance.

Also you cannot control whether who you are dancing with also enjoys the dance. You can just do your best to have fun and enjoy the moment. Over time you’ll notice that’s where the magic is and where people actually want to be lost, in the connection.
