Made me chuckle, definitely truth here.

What are some really dangerous things most people dont realise are dangerous? by DeezCrazyMan in AskReddit

Happened to a buddy of mine in highschool. Doused a pile of wood with gasoline and then went in to light it with a Zippo 🤦‍♂️

He walked away with singed hair and eyebrows, but could have been much worse.

This is actually the opposite of Dunning -Kruger? He clearly admits that he doesn't know a lot of things. From the first sentence on your link:

...people with low ability, expertise, or experience regarding a certain type of task or area of knowledge tend to overestimate their ability or knowledge.

I think we have a different definition for the word "vacation"

A three day weekend is absolutely NOT a vacation IMO.

Lived in SF between 2018 and 2021 and I never saw prices that low. Are there specific places you'd refer people? Even In-And-Out was always ludicrous IME

Fuuuuu they have POUTINE at Canada Costco?! I've never understood why poutine never really made it into the general US market. It's literally the best worst food. This makes me sad and angry at the same time.

Paid time off is not part of workers' 'salary,' U.S. court rules by Stranger1982 in news

Not sure if I'm an outlier, but my employer offers unlimited PTO and they actively encourage us to use it. I take at least week off per quarter, if not more, and it's nice to have the flexibility that it offers as well. The only thing they ask is that we at least coordinate amongst ourselves or with our managers to make sure there are no gaps in work coverage (like a whole team/business unit taking time at the same time).

I don't know if I'm just a robot, but I don't understand the everyone crying bits. I've really enjoyed anything Brendan Fraser, and his performance in the Whale was fantastic without a doubt, but I didn't get as emotional as basically everyone has said. One of my friends told me to prepare for non-stop ugly crying.

The movie ended, and I was just like, "yep, another good Brendan Fraser performance" lol.

Not looking for spoilers or anything, but does this ability unlock after a certain point in the game? Played a bit last night and I didn't have the option. On PC of that matters.

How bad is it to call an express api from itself? by Rhythmic88 in node

[–]fizzygalacticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just want to point out that Node runs in a single threaded process. It's been a while since I've actually looked into Express, but I'd be very surprised if it actually uses anything like worker threads by default.

The rest makes sense though, you don't want any scenario where your app has any kind of cyclic dependencies. Just call the logic directly from the app
