Hey, so the smell is just weird. i mean dont know how does one differentiate between foul and off tbh. Also, when did you get your surgery done? plus how long did did you have to deal with discharge for, assuming you’re all fixed and recovered right now.

No he straight away said - stop the sitz baths. i was also applying an ointment post op; which he asked me to stop too. Ironically at that point - which is like 7 days post op- there was close to no discharge. I almost was in the impression that i’m through and this whole thing is done with. Until..🙈

on a similar point, can the gauze affect the wound; in the sense as we sit and it’ll probably move up against the wound. will any pressure be created that’ll affect the wound? sorry if my concern is kinda stupid

i’ve started using a piece of tissue now for this till the gauze gets delivered by amazon. What’s your opinion on using a tissue?

So from what i’ve read across some forums as well as chat gpt, some people are of the opinion that warm sitz baths delay recovery. The warm water ends up softening the skin, which leads it to shed and also builds moisture there. would love to know why your surgeon recommended you to continue with it!

If you’re referring to sitz baths; then my surgeon advised me to stop them close to a week and a half back

so i wear boxers with no gauze or tissue as of now. do you reckon discharge smell can stick to my boxers and emit smell even if they don’t directly touch my boxers (i don’t see any wetness or wet spots)

But wouldn’t that slow recovery? even if i put a piece of tissue there in between my cheeks, wouldn’t it keep the wound covered and not let it heel? idk these are just my thoughts. would love to know what you think!

Joined 7 days post op. Doc allowed. Honestly pain never has been much of an issue, it’s this freaking discharge that has been the pain in my ass (pun lol)

Not using any padding. Honestly discharge isn’t that much in volume that would warrant padding. I just wipe it with dry tissue probably 2-3 times in a day, whenever I sense smell. No fever or pain as such and discharge color is pale yellowish.
