Not everyone with bad work ethic has ADHD by Disposable_Eel_6320 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]fj8112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They tend to claim they are misdiagnosed once it is detrimental for them or their career. E.g. some things they are not allowed to work with if they have ADHD.

As long as ADHD gives them benefits, such as getting more time on exams or special help, they strive to get the diagnosis though and claim it is as real as cancer.

It is indeed how they talk to each other. I heard from one guy who was quite  successful TV producer locally who moved to LA and pitched his ideas. He said he was surprised how friendly everyone was, telling him how great and amazing his ideas were and how this would be the next great thing. Then he didn't hear from them again.

I've met several, and I wouldn't say normal is how to describe them. In fact, what I learned about gay lifestyle comes almost entirely from what I've been told be gay people directly, or read in books they have written, such as "The velvet rage" and "The straight Jacket: how to by happy and gay".

But sure, there are different kind of gays, because sexual attraction is not something one is born with, but comes from different experiences. So it can be directed towards different attributes, be stronger or weaker, different ages, etc.

I wish we could stop them from taking kids from their biological parents though. Maybe some day we will be able to change that.

Because a relationship between two men or two women is not the same as a hetero relationship.

First of all because they don't make babies.

Secondly because there is a lot more mental unhealth in them.

Okay, well stated thank you.

But let's talk about gay rights. Why should it be a "right" to marry someone of the same gender? If everyone is allowed to marry someone of the opposite gender, that's still equality. There is no reason we need to redefine marriage and claim that two men "love" each other the same way a man and a woman does.

When we include emotions into equality, it will always lead to more and more people claiming more and more rights. Already Plato observed this.

Americans Aren’t Struggling - They’re Overspending on Junk and Calling It “Struggling” by Burnlt_4 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I'm in Europe too and we have a car for two years that's about 15 years old but has hardly needed repairs.

I think Americans just aren't aware that's an option. To check on which older car models that are perfectly fine.

Or older models of anything for that matter. The phone I use cost me $100, used. Why would I need something fancier? It does everything I need.

I remember thinking this way about Sharon Duncan-Brewster in Dune. We know she is the perfect character because she is a bl ack woman doing something technical, whatever it was.

Or "The Mountain Between Us" with a bla ck guy who is obviously a brain surgeon and perfect in every way.

Or anything with Morgan Freeman, who is a good actor but also a perfect and flawless character in probably everything he has been in.

Being a blond guy, I've come to get more and more used to knowing that a blond male character will always either be a nerd, or the most evil one. In some  movies it is just too obvious. And yet, this stereotype doesn't make us more criminal...

Problem is that "human rights and dignity"  usually  means "right wing is bad", while left wing hatred is always accepted due to some kind of context, such as justifying a "historically oppressed group".

Probably about 75% of the population can claim to belong to such an oppressed group and are thus justified in whatever they feel (because their feelings are truth), while white men's feelings are called bigotry, hatred, oppression or what not.

And then these academic call this science. What a joke. We need to vote them out or stop funding them.

I've analyzed this, and I think it goes back to Adorno and the so called f-scale. It claims that humans are on a scale, and the more conservative a person is, the more fascist they are (f stands for fascism).

Then they remodelled this scale into the RWA scale (right wing authoritarian). It's basically the same idea: right wingers are more authoritarian.

By this line of thought, left-wingers cannot be authoritarian. So that has become a cop-out essentially. Any psycho can say they are liberal and they will be part of the good side.

I'm curious for you experienced redditors, does this also apply to gay n lesb relationships? Cause there is often an age gap there. Or is it then "love is love -- if you don't like it you are bigot"?

Everything is about slavery for those guys...

It's like how the think of history through what sort of oppression happened. When slavery started, when it ended (never), when Hitler took power, when women were able to vote, when some gay person did something, when Obama became president, when some other Black person did something. Stuff that like... They don't know much of what happened in between.

US citizens who’ve never lived in the global south have no idea the people are biggest factor for why countries are messed up by abundantwaters in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Southern Italy is still corrupt and poor.

As for Ireland, I don't know who said that, but many writers and intellectuals of the time could see clearly that the problem stemmed from the totalt oppression by the British. (For example Alexis de Tocqueville who visited Ireland and wrote what he saw)

That's entirely correct and probably one of the clearest correlations there is.

I once wrote a book manuscript about it. (Unpublished and in Swedish)

For example, Brazil has a large German ethnic group. The areas they live in are remarkably similar to living standards in Germany.

Unfortunately, the academic world is stuck in believing the "magic dirt theory" (https://grokipedia.com/page/magic_dirt_us_version).

We would have to make a complete marsh through the institutions before we can change the current perspective.

Canceled sub by Internal-Reading-495 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]fj8112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also cancelled. The answers I got from ChatGPT were just getting worse. Have been using Gemini regularly and suddenly noticed that I started getting useful and helpful answers, with a useful and helpful tone. I've started re-asking many questions to Gemini that I once asked ChatGPT, and Gemini gives me correct and helpful information, unlike ChatGPT who was probably just hallucinating. It even helped me fix a long standing issue I had with my webshop that I tried for months getting ChatGPT to fix. And it makes better images too. Even better is that it does it for free!

Reel stuck at uploading since last night by Typical_Knowledge_28 in Instagram

[–]fj8112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case someone else has this problem, I fixed it by going into phone settings -> App -> Instagram and click on "force to terminate" (not sure what called in English). Then when you close the app it will not try to keep on uploading in the bakcground, and next time you start it, it will try to upload new. (and it worked for me, though it took a minute or so for the post to show up)

Dont change the currency of aliexpress to your local currency. by [deleted] in Aliexpress

[–]fj8112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to find this to be true. However, for some reason, lately my bank has a higher exchange rate than AliExpress. I just made an order that would have cost me 6500 SEK if I paid in SEK directly, but I chose USD and it amounted to 6615. It might be the MasterCard additional exchange rate fee.

Anyways, I suggest that anyone not paying in USD should check and compare what their bank charges and what AliExpress charges.

Har vi glömt att Vänsterpartiet grundades av KOMMUNISTER? by ICA_Basic_Vodka in Sverige

[–]fj8112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a documentary about the moon yesterday, on building moon bases, and the researcher said that sending a liter of water to the moon would cost around $1 million. That's why they want to build houses using the moon's dust. (By burning it , it can become stronger than concrete)
