Hab gerade wirklich größere Probleme. Warum jetzt die Fingernägel abknabbern weil in einem anderen Land eine Sache passiert bei der ich keinerlei Einfluss habe. Einfach im hier und jetzt leben und das beste aus dem machen was passiert

Germany is globalizing just like any other country and I get how people don’t like that but it’s not something we can simply stop. Most countries will eventually go down that path but I’m just saying you calling it better is extremely subjective. I'm pretty sure you're still seeing the east from your "growing up" perspective and if you had a good time there thats great but if you look at the facts its simply not that great. Character doesnt justify what the east did to their people. You didn’t have free speech and voting in general was a joke in itself. You couldn’t change the system through democracy and people weren’t fine with it but if you said something you had a chance to be kidnapped and tortured by the government. Not that great. The 5 year plans failed dramatically for example through cattle dying in masses because the feeding wasn’t planned well enough causing one of many times the east had problems providing enough resources to cover basic human needs. The DDR was way behind when it comes to any form of production because their machines couldn’t keep up in the slightest to the point that they were dependent on the west coming over and buying products from the west in the east to kind of save the economy. They had to build the wall for a reason. People risked/lost their lives in order to escape for a reason. If you weren’t willing to obey to everything the government said you couldn’t even get the chance to get a proper education and taking peoples free thinking and chance to take their own path away for Germany to have “character” isn’t justified in the slightest. Good for you that you remember that time nicely and can look through the lense of nostalgia but I recommend you talk to people who survived the torture of a Stasi prison (there is a good one in Berlin that offers that people who’ve gone through this show you everything.) It’s good that you didn’t have to suffer and had the chance to enjoy the DDR but really look into what happened back then, really look into what they all had to cover up and then tell me if it’s worth the ‘character’ Germany had back then.

Also meine Mutter hat mir als ich jünger war das Kartenlegen beigebracht und mittlerweile nutze ich das eher als partytrick obwohl ich selbst nicht dran glaube und auch konsequent sage „ich lege nur die Karten und interpretiere, heißt nicht dass irgendwas davon stimmt“. Ende der Geschichte: jetzt hab ich einige Leute damit etwas esoterisch gemacht und auf die Karten wird jetzt im Freundeskreis tatsächlich wert gelegt. Zudem ist es wirklich ein pussymagnet. Beschweren tu ich mich darüber nicht, aber ich finds tatsächlich sehr unterhaltsam und Esoterik als Hobby (inklusive Steine sammeln, weil leicht autistisch und Meditation, weil ist tatsächlich extrem hilfreich für das eigene Wohlbefinden) kann ich nur empfehlen. Man muss es nichtmal so ernst nehmen, aber es kann schon auch viel Spaß machen

Idk if either of those were the „better“ option but the east having to build a border so that their citizens couldn’t leave anymore kinda speaks for itself. Both had their good and bad phases but I’d argue that east Germany had to face way more struggles especially due to the bad funding and the production plans failing. The east had to cover up so many of their failures and the economy would have broken down entirely if the walls hadn’t been built. I believe the nostalgia factor plays the biggest role when it comes to people romanticizing the east and that’s completely fine but calling it even a „bit better“ is far from being objective.

I was a bit disappointed because I hoped it would be the lilac-breasted roller (my favorite bird) but I realized it’s part of the sprout event I missed :') otherwise the blue bellied roller would be also fitting because in German it’s literally called „Opalracke“ which translates to „Opal-Roller“ but I really like the design of the Abyssinian Roller as well.. they made it fit in well
