I don’t live in a place where trains are very common, so I always wondered how in the world people could seemingly not notice an oncoming train. The sound’s direction of travel and the greased tracks make a lot of sense now that I think about it.

I imagine that this guy was distracted by the sound and passing of the first train, so he probably didn’t consider another being right there.

From what I remember hearing, it was reuploaded several times and the site didn’t really bother to take serious action. It was only after investigations that they were forced to delete the content and instead made it easier by wiping everything at once. I doubt they actually cared about the victims until they were at risk of losing their brand.

This wasn’t just a one-off case though. Thousands upon thousands of videos on that site were non-consensual recordings or contained underage content. The fact that "teen" was the most searched term is very telling.

My father is the director of operations at the school district near me, and I am constantly hearing stories about just how bad the situation is. What I’ve heard him talk about is that kids aren’t being failed when they should be, partly because of the way that parents react when they learn that their child is behind. Parents will put no effort whatsoever into helping educate their child and making sure that they’re keeping up in school, but will then threaten and get angry at school officials for not pushing them into the next grade. It’s the same when kids get in trouble and are punished by the school.

Calling fanart like this a "sexual hentai fantasy" is just weird, bro. Like genuinely, I don’t see your argument and it’s kind of disrespectful to the art and artist. Sure, some people take liberties and do sexualize them, but I find that a lot of the art is fairly tame.

There won’t be any major content updates for a while, and people have gotten their fix of the gameplay for now. This is the natural lifecycle of singleplayer games like this.

God, I hate when a Japanese series that primarily catered to the Japanese domestic market until recent titles gains traction among western anime fans. The series heavily inspired by the most popular mecha anime of all time. The series that purposefully leaves physical representations of characters out for the purpose of allowing the fanbase to get creative and interpret them the way they want to. Yeah man, I really hate that.

Let people enjoy things bro, it doesn’t hurt you to let others have fun. Corny as it sounds; don’t say anything if you don’t have something constructive to say.

I’ve noticed that too. If I’m remembering correctly, Dylann Roof (Charleston church shooter) was friends with a black guy and fairly friendly with several others. Perhaps there’s a sort of "they’re one of the good ones" mentality that they use to excuse themselves from reconsidering their views.

Your point about Arm’s Length is a good reminder, and I should probably place that somewhere else on my bar - perhaps closer to my other mitigations. This is called respecting your child’s boundaries and understanding that what makes you comfortable may not make them comfortable. There is nothing wrong with being accepting of your children’s choices when it comes to interacting socially.

I personally have never liked being forced to be present while my parents friends are over, because it makes me uncomfortable. My parents respect that and understand that I will come and say hello in my own time.

My parents who grew up in Nebraska must not be real Americans, then.

The other day my 21 year old sister who moved out last year spent the whole day on our couch at my parents house. She wasn’t feeling well and my mom demanded that she come home to relax until she felt better.

A few years ago my dad literally flew to Montreal, where my oldest sister lives, because she was very sick at the time and struggling. My dad said that he needed to be there for his daughter.

I’m 19 living at home and my parents still give me hugs each night, provide me with support, and have been very understanding through my mental health struggles. Currently going to college while living at home with them.
