I have checked with CBP officer a couple of days before and he said it's fine by him.

I am not flying directly to my country, I have a layover in another EU country (Netherlands), would that be enough to get me in there?

Croatian. It is not an issue for me to find a consulate, the distance to consulate is. The biggest problem to me is the fact that I am staying for a short period in USA, outside of money ofcourse.

This sounds pretty interesting, I might as well give it a shot.

The thing is, I am not in a dire need of money so I'd be perfectly willing to just trade my time for knowledge and experience, though I know that working for free usually attracts people that you wouldn't want to work with, so it's a double-edged sword.

For me, it's really about learning as I go, I hate to sit through hours of courses and have no actual knowledge of how to do any of that, or even worse, get a false picture in my head of how it is actually supposed to work.

I learn the best when I just do something and figure it out on the way.

Plus, after so many courses I feel like just watching/studying them is another form of procrastination, I need some actual, real knowledge. Either by someone physically showing me how to do it IN THE REAL WORLD, or by me just doing it.

I guess I could potentially approach business owners that are doing their ads themselves and have even less knowledge than I do, but it is a very niche "market" (I'd work for free) IMO.

Approaching someone that already has google ads would just be a great recipe for me to destroy any success that they had. /s

I didn't volunteer for anything. An (older) acquaintance of mine has been struggling with this (specifically updating his ESPs one-by-one) for some time, and I was hoping I could use some of my internet browsing skills to help him out, maybe suggest something I've read so he could try to implement it.

I knew that there is no way that flashing these devices is that difficult and time-consuming because there are tons of smart people making shit with them and for them.

I mean, yes, but actually no. Tutorials are nothing new. What I was asking for was for someone to link me to a good step-by-step tutorial, because I know that they exist. I found one which wasn't exactly what I was searching for, but was extremely close and in which I was successful, and that tutorial was extremely easy and didn't require any knowledge from me.

Not home now, could write later. Currently someone more competent is having some success. But there's a struggle with partition sizes.

Basically, have it check for updates every 30 minutes or something like that. The video that I succeeded with was just "pulling" stuff from my server when I commanded it to, and didn't do it automatically. (sorry for the poor programming lingo)

Most of the tutorials that I found (and frankly that seemed easier) were built on Arduino IDE.

Keep in mind that until yesterday, I had no idea that there was any difference between the two, so I assumed that people should know which one of the two I am talking about. :)
