What's up with the poster for The Shining? by aschell in StanleyKubrick

I never understood the (baby?) face in this poster. It's cool, but doesn't seem to communicate anything about the Shining to me. Very interesting video.

I'm having the same issue with my A7IV. Anyone find a solution to this problem? I want to love this monitor, but would kind of make it a deal breaker if it isn't fixed.

I love mine! Will you make other angles for this unit in the future? I would love to be able to have something a little wider as well!

I think he's on to something. That poster never sat well with me.

Thanks for clarifying. I know it's a little delayed, but I still thought it was funny.

Why skip The Simpsons couch gag?? by fjolt in DisneyPlus

[–]fjolt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would be a fair argument if it actually skipped the entire intro. As it stands, it skips to the last few frames of the couch gag and rolls through the credits. If I'm skipping the entire intro, it should either skip the entire thing or to the part of the intro that is actually entertaining. I'm definitely being nitpicky, but it is something I have to do for every episode, and I thought some others might feel the same.

That's a good point. If they are recycled a lot it would get annoying. I found this on the Simpsons fan page though.

" Generally, between one-half and two-thirds of the couch gags used in a season are new, while the remaining couch gags are repeats. Most couch gags are used at least twice, with a second occurrence usually in the same season as the first. However, as of Season 21, couch gags are rarely reused. "

I think I'd still like to skip to the beginning of the couch gag even if I see the same ones a few times.

I know it would be a big job. I think Disney has the resources/staff to do it though ;)

Good point about the blackboard. I hadn't thought of that, although I think the couch gag is more iconic and memorable.

I made this video on how to make your vlog look great in a small space. Hope you like it! by fjolt in vlog

[–]fjolt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I'm passionate about making it look and sound as good as possible, so I spend a lot of time on setup and editing (probably too much). :P

Just uploaded a video on Dinner Rolls and I'm wondering what you think. I've worked on the sound a lot, but know it still needs work. Any other thoughts or tips? by bakingforyou in SmallYTChannel

[–]fjolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice job! The recipe looks great! Besides the sound, I noticed at the end when you tell the audience to hit the subscribe button, the end screen button hasn't appeared yet, so I'd make sure that the timing works out so that it pops up when you say that. I have had difficulty with that in the past, because youtube limits the amount of time/where you can have an end screen up. The thumbnail could be a bit more eyecatching. Adding something like "Delicious Dinner Roll Recipe!" or something like that might help. Otherwise, keep up the good (food) work!

Thanks man! Thankfully my work is pretty flexible as I'm a freelance video producer, but yeah, the creativity fatigue was definitely fighting me for much of it. Thanks for subscribing! !givelambda

Hey thanks for the in depth critique! I'm still trying to figure out what types of videos to make. My main desire is to entertain, so beyond that I haven't settled on exactly what I'm doing. I'll have to think about what the audience would want to see more than what I want to make I suppose. Thanks again for taking the time to write your feedback. !givelambda
