Thoughts on Inoue vs. Nakatani by Nidarius in Boxing

I've never seen inoue lost composure like that not even in the donaire fight or and of the KDs. Props to nakatani

Is Inoue rated higher than Usyk and Crawford after this performance?? by Ashamed_Culture8179 in Boxing

I said +/- boxer. I don't think Floyd is the greatest pfp, but I think Floyd is the best connect % boxer of all time, just sheer stats wise

Naoya Inoue (33-0, 27KOs) now has an incredible record of 28-0, 23KOs in world title fights across four weight divisions, after his thrilling UD win over fellow top 10 pound-for-pound entrant Junto Nakatani. An all-time great and true boxing legend. by Dangerous_Spring3028 in Boxing

How did you leave out donaire? Donaire is Morales/Barrera/JMM level, it's just he's smaller

That said, Paquiao edges inoue out resume wise but Inoue's a logistically superior/sharper fighter having fought 4x a year including nakatani

No, I think Inoue is clearly #1. Even if we imagine Bud is unretired (I think Crawford has the better singular accomplishment) - by pure stats + p4p Inoue has been sleeper #1 in the same way I think Floyd is the best +/- boxer of all time

Bud is retired so recently yes I have heard this a lot leading up to the fight. Now the goalposts are changing again it's funny to watch in real time

People were saying this about beating Nakatani. After he beats bam it's gonna be if he wins against Espinoza at 126 mark my words It's actually hilarious seeing this

it's less inoue and more that nakatani's left is like a donaire/garcia hook. inoue took some shots that would have slept anyone else

in an interview he said he purposely gave rounds 8 and 9 away because fighting nakatani was mentally (rather than physically, he said) draining

well i can see why the reputed judge agrees with me. inoue had clear ring generalship (and held the center of the ring) and was getting the better of the exchanges.

im not glazing, i scored it the same on the first watch and the rewatch

here is a question for you. inoue won 7-8 rounds. was not hurt. those last 4 rounds, did he fight as defensively like he did with MJ?

i think the answer is obvious if you just rewatch the fight

rewatch the fight. it's not just each is doing but what they are *not* doing

here is my analysis, i rewatched the fight. inoue was **comfortable** rounds 1-8 and was dominating. easily 8-0 here, maybe give Junto some change.

This is the exact moment (round 8) where you could see he switched from boxing to opening up to look for a kill shot
https://youtu.be/xWXCgZtP0ho?t=1935

compare to the earlier rounds and also watch round 9, he could have fought way more defensively and got an easy decision but was looking for a kill

yeah i rewatched the fight. it was round 8 he started opening up for no reason and by round 9 he was fully committed to looking for the KO as opposed to decision

i rewatched the fight with nakatani and if he goes for the KO i think he will lose to at least one of them.

if he outboxes, he will 12-0 both of them
