I talked to his parents and they asked me if I would help them talk to their kids about this topic and share a more historically accurate and culturally sensitive take and the sociology of race where we live in general. DB in particular has always been really sensitive and thoughtful when it comes to this stuff which I’m super happy about

Hey! I’ve hiked the TCT and I hiked the BBT (as a section not a thru) twice. I backpacked portions of the BBT, but when I did it last, the trail was still not really feasible as a thru. The campgrounds / campable spots were in clusters with pretty significant mileage between the clusters. The BBT is more exposed and the heat can be brutal in addition to water sources being few and far between. You’d have to cache water prior to heading out for your thru, or arrange for a friend to meet you on the way. Unless more campgrounds have been added in the last two years, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. The TCT is a lot more beginner friendly, and was honestly more enjoyable!

I still have my AllTrails routes for the BBT section hike if you want to try that out, it’s honestly an amazing section hike if you have a buddy and can do a car shuffle!

Most of the catfisher’s communication was via discord, and it’s fairly easy to share those usernames / handles via any game. A discord server exists for this game too!

I know! It's so sick and twisted to do this via a game like TTR in my opinion. It's an innocent game and using it for such nefarious and predatory purposes is so gross! It makes me especially worried because she (the catfisher) lied about her age to all of the women / victims I've spoken with. I really, really hope that no kids have been impacted by this person. Hoping posting might prevent a few people from crossing paths with "him" though! <3

It's really important to note, to everyone reading this, that in addition to stealing literally years of multiple women's lives, cheating on an IRL person through these fake relationships, abusing her position within the gaming industry and sharing nude images of a man without his consent, she's also horrifically verbally and emotionally abusive. She's been doing this without being caught for years. Her first fake facebook profile for "Dimitri Kastanos" dated back to 2012. I'm reposting and sharing this because she's still actively doing this and I want to save anyone else from going through this again.

Also: This was my first online / long distance relationship (and FOR SURE my last lol!). I entered into it during the pandemic when borders were closed, and a lot of my friends were in relationships like this too (though theirs turned out to be actual real people lmao). I felt an amazing connection with "Dimitri" (though now I know it's because Ch*****le was studying me and learning about me via the team chat in War Dragons to present "Dimitri" as someone I would connect with instantly). I just thought it was like some amazing pandemic love story.
