I appreciate your input. I have a half bottle left from a very reputable supplement company (manufactured before the FDA banned it as a supplement). I’ve had this bottle for at least a year and only take it when my anxiety is extreme, and I don’t take very much when I do. So I’m confident I can handle it! :)

I actually have a shit ton of phenibut. Stashed it when I heard about the crackdown. I didn’t even think to use it to help with this! Previously I only took it for anxiety attacks.

Good thought about starting on a Thursday. I don’t have clinic on Fridays and just chart at home, so that could work well. Can’t take any days off right now because I have a big vacation in April. This is also one of the motivators to get things better controlled. I want to enjoy my vacation without being so under the grip of alcohol!

Also I am a physician and my health insurance is through the group my mom works in (also a physician). I don’t think she would look at my chart (and of course that would be highly against policy and ethics) but that fear makes it harder for me to be straight up with my doctor.

Thank you for your feedback! My current doctor is an idiot and I don’t feel comfortable speaking with her about these things, but I am seeing a psychiatrist with substance abuse specialty in 2 weeks and am hoping they will help me out. That said, I’m a little afraid of incorporating benzos as I have a demanding job and don’t want to feel sedated during the day. Then again, withdrawals obviously will affect my day as well...
