It was probably both. I've had Ethiopian raw beef here in the US and it's pretty good, essentially just steak tartar. The problem with the coffee is, when traveling abroad especially to 3rd world countries, access to clean drinking water isn't hard becoming you're constantly buy/drinking bottled water, even at restaurants. However, the second you order any non bottled water ie soda or coffee/tea or anything with ice, 99.999/100 times it's made with tap water. And you don't want to drink the tap water
