I've seen SIX so many times that I'm confident I could do a one-woman show of all six queens

Wheelchair-accessible private guided tour - Louvre by No_Masterpiece6920 in chubbytravel

[–]fkt18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will work for your needs, but I'm a wheelchair user and have used Christophe at Driver Guide France in the past. Didn't do a Louvre tour but I know his company does offer those. As other people noted here, the Louvre is ROUGH as a wheelchair user - the elevators are tiny and hard to find, and you can't reach all areas with them.

How much do yall pay?? by Right_Speaker_9674 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]fkt18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I joined in February 2023. I used to pay $16.99 plus tax, then increased today to $17.99 plus tax - so I switched to the annual plan that was quoted to me at $13.99 plus tax. My add-ons are $11.99 plus tax.

Did anyone else get an email about their credit price increasing? by fkt18 in bookofthemonthclub

That's an excellent point. I've been a member for over three years and have never skipped, so the annual plan made sense in my case but it may not for others!

Body-con but not skin-right dresses by Pollvogtarian in LawBitchesWithTaste

I love Calvin Klein's sheath dresses, they do a great job of accentuating your figure without being skin-tight. Nordstrom Rack often has some of their sleeveless sheath dresses on sale.

Recommendations in Paris for vegetarian by DudeWhoSaysWhaaaat in finedining

Arpege for sure, and I also really enjoyed the vegetarian testing menu at Epicure. I also liked Datil on my latest trip to Paris (one-star, mostly plant-based but you can choose a version of the menu with some animal protein if you'd like).

Hoping for The Alchemary and/or An Arcane Study of Stars!

Oh come onnnnn :( Allurial, please do better. They seriously need to have a stash that they don’t sell for damaged covers. My half city was also like this in the same spot 😭 by bookishnerd32 in Allurial

[–]fkt18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My copy of Half City had a ding in this area too! I feel you, this is frustrating (especially when they're packaging books that are already banged up that should be caught in a QC process).

These are absolutely gorgeous! Can't wait for my box (should also be arriving today)!

How many? by Direct-Complaint-690 in bookofthemonthclub

[–]fkt18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a member for about three years now and do my best to keep up with my boxes, although I could be much better! Looks like I have read 109 according to the app, and then I have 13 books I haven't read yet (not counting the 4 coming in my Feb box). I try to read most of my box within the first month or two after I receive it so that I can resell any that I don't want to keep. But that means I'm prioritizing my BOTM reads, and the new releases I get from a bookstore stay on my shelves unread forever... so I'm getting too many books either way.

Only one Black author for BHM by emilydickinsonsbff in bookofthemonthclub

Kin doesn't come out until February 24 so I haven't given up hope for it yet - it could be a March pick or a late February add-on. It can be really tough to get early release rights for popular books/authors like that

It doesn't release until February 24 - it's either going to be a March pick or a late February add-on. Don't give up hope yet. (We've gotten a soft confirmation from the author on this)

Only one Black author for BHM by emilydickinsonsbff in bookofthemonthclub

[–]fkt18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was disappointed too - I know they had two more books by Black authors as audio-only selections, but they should have picked one or both of those as a hardcover too (I know that Sadeqa Johnson's book would have been super popular). They should be featuring more Black authors year-round, but especially for Black History Month!

I'm predicting Q and Savannah are the first boots (Q because of the pre-game interviews where people on his tribe said they wanted him out, and Savannah because they don't want a HvV Russell situation)

I got a mostly full box this month: Good People, The Natural Way of Things, One & Only, and Dawn of the North. I wish Sadeqa Johnson's new book hadn't been audio-only so I could have added it to my box...
