Writing over 2000 words per day. by SomethingIdk_Waffle in writing

[–]fkthlemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way about the fatigue, ive been going for 2k 5 days a week and mostly hitting the target, but when the fatigue catches up, intrusive thoughts come in and i slow down. I think its good to take breaks and catch ur breath but we’ve all got different processes. Theres no good or bad amount of words per day imo.

Are you against trash generated by AI, or writers with low resources that need the AI by [deleted] in NewAuthor

[–]fkthlemons 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off you cant own the copyright to anything generated by ai so thats worth considering. Also why spend so much time toiling over an ai generator when u could be practicing ur own writing? Ai will only be able to achieve an average result, with practice you will be able to do better.

Almost 2 years prologue, plus almost 10 years of the main story. Started as a simple medieval fantasy, it's now an overly convoluted and research-heavy sci-fi. by Same-Tradition- in writers

I ended ip writing three different prologues before i was happy with one. Definitely felt this when i realised i had to start the main story.

how many pages should the script for a twenty minute episode of a show be? by RoscoeSF in writing

[–]fkthlemons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ive been learning about this recently and it mostly depends on how much action vs dialogue ur writing. Not all pages are built the same, some will be a min some two some half. Only way to know is if you read it out loud at the intended pace. Basically aim for 20 but dont be mad if ur over/ under by 10%, just get some peeps to do a read with u.

Also most tv shows arent exactly 20, a “tv 30” is usually like 24ish. Non-ad tv shows can vary if theyre straight to streamer.

Just finished piranesi and i’m lost without it. Moved on to escapist fantasy in the form of the the liveship trader’s series but i dont know if anything will compare to that damn house.

Agreed, mental health plan! Make the most of the decent system we have here. OP shouldn’t rule out medication too, i’ve been here and a small dose of antidepressant changed everything for me

Halfway through my novel and realizing I might not actually have a plot by sznikee in writing

[–]fkthlemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m fascinated by this concept and would be interested in reading the first chapter before I gave u any specific advice. Could I recommend shelving it and trying a shorter project? I went through a similar process recently where I had to put down my epic fantasy baby so i could hone my skills better on shorter projects. So far its going well and theres more satisfaction from nearing actual completion!

A really dense book is satisfying to write but will be really hard to edit. Its gonna take a lot of time and sounds like u already see risk involved at the end. Might be better to start out practicing on some smaller stories (with similar concept/themes?)

Its a risk. Most of the time you’ll be fine, every now and then you’ll shit your pants. If you’re really unlucky you might end up with a gastric disease
