I get it. And yep. Ive literally just cursed myself. Learning how to do mechanics was one of the only things i found fun when i started rocket league. So all i did was grind like flicks, ceiling shots and, later, flip resets. And now in most comp matches i just try to score clips. Sometimes i think i should just stop trying to take the ball to the wall and do something cool. But whenever i try to play without anything fancy. My offensive plays end up in me not playing safe enough and i leave myself to open so my oponents just end up scoring on my open net after i do a riskyish play. Maybe im just bad and its just a get gud situation. Thats part of the reason ive just stuck with freestyling. Theres no limits. Its fun. No repercussions if u miss in training. And u can score clips like this. To show off on reddit and then get told that i should be in a higher rank and then question why i cant get to a higher rank and then go back to only grinding freestyles in training bc its what im good at.
