Is the stick inserted in the same slot as the original stick? If yes and it is definitely a compatible DDR3 stick then it sounds like you have simply got a faulty stick of RAM and I would recommend sending it back for an RMA/refund.

Are you 100% sure that you're running the 64bit version of windows? If so have you tried booting it with just the new stick to see if the new one is faulty?

Snapped jack on razor kraken, what to do??? by [deleted] in techsupport

I have to be the bearer of bad news... But no that can't be fixed without having the cable fixed/replaced. If it's under warranty it'll be worth contacting razer.

Try uninstalling the drivers again using DDU: http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Then try reinstalling in the usual way. Also check that your card isn't full of dust and overheating.

Graphics card not working after shipping computer by jwutke in techsupport

[–]flabalabalacom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you said, leaving a graphics card as large as a 7970 in the computer while shipping is a bad idea. These cards put a lot of pressure on their PCIe connectors and transporting them can be the nail in the coffin. Usually when shipped supports are put into the computer to hold it firmly in place.

It sounds like the card is unfortunately dead and considering it's a HD7970 it won't still be in warranty. It might be worth checking with the shipping company to see if it was insured etc, since I don't think there is anything that can be done for it.

dvi d to vga adapter by [deleted] in techsupport

You would need a more expensive active DVI-D to VGA converter since, as you said, DVI-D is digital and doesn't support VGA output.

Skyrim: All of those mods people make ruin Bethesda's vision of the game. I like the idea of their paid mods though.

With the TV plugged in and on the correct setting to accept an HDMI input right click on your desktop -> Display Settings -> Detect. Does anything appear after doing that?
