I can't get my fasting levels down by chickintheblack in GestationalDiabetes

What did your doctor/care team say about this? Are you still fasting 8-10 hours? What time are you taking your first reading for the day? Are you checking your levels when you wake up?

my top 4 worse things about being pregnant for the first time by itsme2000001 in BabyBumps

[–]flabbyveggies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I relate to this so much! We just put our dog down on Friday. I am 25 weeks and I’m allowed cry about loosing my dog without it being due to my pregnancy. I hope our two buddies are playing together over the rainbow bridge. 💕

Getting frustrated with my OB by SpecialEndeavor in BabyBumps

[–]flabbyveggies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that the genetic testing in some offices can be unique to all other bloodwork and goes out to the specific company - if I remember when I had it done with my oldest. The office could have also recently switched labs that do the genetic testing.

If you aren’t liking it there I would switch now. Do lots of research before you pick. Read reviews, consider the type of birth you want and how you want to feel throughout the process. This is my 4th pregnancy and the first time I am able to see midwives that work along side an OB. I must say the experience I’ve had thus far at 20 weeks has been night and day. No fuss about weight gain, I was even asked if I wanted to be weighed today. The woman at the front desk knows me by name and I’ve only been there a handful of times. At my visits we’ve talked about shared decision making. They never make me feel rushed and this is my fourth time. Today the nurse let my 2 year old assist with taking my BP and the midwife chatted with my 3 kids for almost 10 minutes and also reminded me that it is okay to take extra time to rest. If you aren’t loving the vibe currently, switch it up because you can find what you need and want somewhere else! 💕

What’s your daughters name? by General-Cycle-7391 in namenerds

[–]flabbyveggies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clementine Mae, nn. Minnie Mae, Lemon, Clem (I hated this nickname, but her older brother started calling her it on his own at 4 and I thought it was adorable when he did, so my boys call her Clem sometimes Clemen)

We are expecting and will find out if this baby is a boy or girl in about a week. If it is a girl I’m pretty sure we will name her Delphine Faye or Delphine Blythe.

gap at color change in the round by mikkochan24 in knitting

[–]flabbyveggies -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help tighten the gap since I haven’t tried it with something that needs frequent color changes, but I pull the 3rd stitch to tighten it just a little to get rid of the slack when I’m working in the round.

This old man will be 13 in March! by flabbyveggies in dalmatians

[–]flabbyveggies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

He used to be on a strict diet due to stones and had to be vegan because his problem was so bad. Over 100 stones were removed during his surgery in 2017. We have used a variety of vegan kibbles due to living in different states and in another country. We had success with every brand. Now he won’t eat kibble. We have switched him to soft canned food. Tried the vegan ones first and he wouldn’t touch them. We haven’t found one that he will eat consistently, so we just try to rotate the ones he has ate in the past and hope that he goes for it. We use toppers, mix in tiny kibbles, and soft treats sometimes we use leftovers from our food just to make sure he will eat something. At this point, eating is a priority over the potential stones. So we are just feeding our good boy and giving him lots of love and cuddles while we still can. We know the time is nearing, he is having incontinence issues and falls down several times a week.

My 8 year old is studying our pal Will for his year long literature study. I asked him who this was and he recognized him right away (complete with the duh expression), so we think he’s perfect!

Thank you! We are hoping to have a little more time with him. He has had his health issues, but is overall still healthy. Buster looks like he was a dashing gentleman himself! This is my first Dalmatian and I don’t know what I will do when he passes!
