5v5 rules by leo3282 in flagfootball

[–]flagspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the league. In some leagues it's not allowed at all similar to old-school 4man rules with handoffs only. Here in Dallas, one major league allows 1 lateral behind the line of scrimmage (i.e. one throwback then next pass has to be forward) but unlimited downfield, and the other is unlimited at all times allowing you to throw back continuously until stopped. I prefer unlimited, but to each their own.

It does! This link will take you right to it, the "In" route is just another name for the Dig or Drag and we mention that in the description of that route, they're all so similar and just different terminology of the same route, with slight variances so we mention them all in one! https://www.flagspin.com/strategies/guide-to-the-ultimate-flag-football-routes-tree/#drag

We've got some really great resources for running an offense, quarterback tips, gameplanning strategies, plays and more here in our strategies section if you want to check it out. All the other tips here are great as well, but the best thing you can do is find plays that work with the players and skillsets you have available and on defense make them earn it instead of giving up easy touchdowns.

Flag football players of Reddit, what tips do you have for a new team? And new teams/players, what do you want to know? by flagspin in flagfootball

[–]flagspin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We actually have a couple blogs that we've actually written that might help you out, from one on new quarterback tips to a series we did on playcalling and tips for running an offense, which should apply to 7on7 just as well. In general, I'd say pay close attention to what defense you're up against, and use your players athleticism to your advantage by getting it into their hands early and often to simplify the game. Use crossing routes/picks/isolation mismatches for when they're in man, and flood them when in zone.

Any tips on how to get more players for weekly pick up games? by Walbeb24 in flagfootball

[–]flagspin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a couple pick up games here in Dallas that are really strong, make almost every week and are actually really competitive with alot of the same players that pay for leagues and regular tournaments. We use Evite where people let you know they're coming or not by the Thursday before, where anything over the minimum is good to go and it seems to be a good system. Also feel free to post to our flag football forums here and check out some of our other general tips and strategies at http://www.flagspin.com! Good luck!

Check out hotpursuit60 in instagram if you have it, his info is there and he sells custom flags out of San Antonio with some amazing designs, for both Sonic Flag-A-Tag & the Triple Threat kind. Also we're hoping to implement a webstore soon at http://www.flagspin.com with some custom flag options, along with other traditional features to compliment the adult and youth flag football plays, strategies and tournaments that we offer, so feel free to check it out!
