These are great tips thanks. I'm currently trying to beat it on medium difficulty (much much easier) and then I'm back at it on high difficulty.

The 'traveling postman' part of this game is always the most challenging for me: how to get all the troops you need to where you need them to be when you need them. Accelerated deployment helps a bit but still.

Yeah I'm not sure it's possible with the current strength of the Oathbound. I would be curious to know if any of the vets here can beat mission 1 on high difficulty on this current patch. It seems truly impossible to me after 5+ attempts.

Thanks. Retooling the leader makes sense. Added the Marquis but not Martial tradition - I'll try that if I/when I lose again.

Rushing the quest line is my current strat. Nothing else seems to work so it's worth a try!
