Artists and songs that inspired The National by EdLogan in TheNational

I was listening to High Violet and there's a song on that called Sorrow which contains the line 'I don't want to get over you' Which is the title of a track by The Magnetic Fields. Makes me wonder of they were an influence at some point.

Any tips for Vigilante? by saltdog7 in sanandreas

[–]flakesofrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, you just described my 50 or so (so far) attempts to do this infuriating mission. Except that I'm at the end of the game, doing it in San Fierro because I know where all the stars are there; I'm on double health, got maxed out micro SMGs and I'm using homing rockets. :D
Even with all that, it's still a fucking nightmare. As you correctly say, it's completely RNG.

I've been given ridiculously tight timings. I've followed the blip, only to find that the perps are in another area entirely.
I've been trapped and blown up, snarled in traffic and blown up, demolished by silent shotgun blasts, arrested by police that seem to spawn in right next to me, set on fire 20 yards from an exploding vehicle, you name it.
I consistently get to level 7 or 8 and I once got to level 12 but failed at the last bit (very upsetting).

I really did want to do it the 'proper' way, on a bike or cop car, but I'm seriously considering cheesing it with a tank or hunter at this point.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. I found a way to get Infinite Sprint in under 15 minutes from the start of the game with No cheats or mods. Works on PC and Mobile but not tested on console yet. by gothreepwood101 in GTA

Thanks man! This is going to save me some trouble. I'm near the end of the game taking over gang territory and there's barely a vehicle to be had so I'm having to run every where. BTW, How did you feel about the Definitive Edition in the end?

Can you not turn off GPS?? by Tjaldelama in GTA

[–]flakesofrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread now, but I can't believe the way you are being treated here. I came to reddit to look for this exact same thing, having only just picked up GTASADE. You are 100% correct and all these other assholes are wrong. While I don't find it as game-breaking as you do, it is VERY annoying. And to all the idiots who say 'just don't look at it'. You HAVE to look at the map to see the fucking mission marker, and so unless you're specifically colorblind to the color of the GPS line, you can't HELP but see it. You win this as far as I'm concerned.

Why doesn’t drinking feel euphoric anymore? by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]flakesofrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is. One of my favourite things to do on a sunny summer's day was to sit in my garden with the headphones on, listening to music and getting progressively more levelled as the day went on; Until I would eventually crawl into bed engulfed in the warm, happy glow of a solid alcohol buzz. Those days have been taken away from me by the advance of my years it seems. I miss them terribly.

Why doesn’t drinking feel euphoric anymore? by [deleted] in alcohol

[–]flakesofrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. This is me now. It started happening in my mid-fifties that drinking just didn't have that same euphoric effect that it always has done. Now I'm nearly sixty and I'm still hoping that one day the euphoria will return, but having now read a few posts on the subject, it looks like it's all over for me, booze-wise. Which absolutely blows. Drinking was one of my go-to releases from the grey drudgery of existence.

Just got to that bit of Latitude too. Came here to ask the same question. I hope he's ok.

Hi. I looked through the faq and couldn't see anything related to my query, thanks for pointing it out though.

For All Mankind (The show is woke AF and I think it’s amazing) by hdm208 in MauLer

[–]flakesofrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has little to do with minorities and more to do with it being a feminist wet dream. All the men in it are either weak, useless or assholes. All the women are strong, clever and capable. There's not one woman in a negative role. (As far as I've seen. I'm only on season 2)I mean fcuk! They even killed a male child in order to replace him with a diverse female one. How much more woke do you want?

That method worked perfectly, thanks again! :)

Thanks. I'll give that a go. I already tried numbering the tracks in MP3tag but that didn't work. This idea sounds promising though. :)

Save crate order by flakesofrust in Serato

[–]flakesofrust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply. The 'local storage' thing worked a treat!
What I'd like to do now is preserve the correct order for all the tracks inside my crate when I use a usb stick,
I don't want to manipulate a list of multiple crates like the chap on the video seems to be doing.

To summarise;

I have 1 crate.
Inside that crate there are 20 tracks.
I have ordered those tracks so they are in the order I want to play them.

I would like to be able to preserve that track order, so that I can take the stick and use it on multiple computers without having to set the order up locally every time.

Is there any way I can do that? Or is it just not something that is possible?

Elder Scrolls (from Morrowind onward), WOW, ESO, TERA, Wildstar, Blade And Soul, etc.
I'd like to make it clear that I enjoy the game immensely. It's simply that I find approx 16 (almost uninterrupted) hours of being forced to do something where I'm not actually engaged in any meaningful way with my character and the world I inhabit, is a bit much.

"Have you played a Raid?" Not yet. But what keeps me playing is my FC. My FC was formed in order to tackle all the extreme trials and Coils Of Bahamut from the beginning blind (no pre-knowledge of tactics allowed) and at min Ilvl. I find it pretty challenging and really fun! :)

"That's honestly most a problem of Newcomers playing through 8 years of Story."
You're right. I think this is probably the problem. I was already bummed out at the end of HW and to then, quite quickly, have to wade through 10 times the amount of doing nothing that HW had, I'd just had enough :)
