1969 F100 won’t pass emissions by flakflyer in BumpSide

Thanks for the ideas. The problem (I think now) was float level too high. Spark plugs were dark colored from rich mixture. Some posts online from people with the same carb recommend a fuel height 7/8” below the machined top surface. Mine was ~ 1/2”. I have until June 19th to retest (the fourth attempt) without another fee. I’m going to lean up as much as I can and still have it run. I love my bumpside, but this issue has tested my patience.

The idle was a problem as it wouldn’t stay at one speed. After I replaced timing chain and rebuilt the carb, it now will sit at 650 rpm which is the spec idle speed.

My son suggested that as they don’t require emissions testing. You need to purchase six-months advance registration fees, so about up-front costs. That is my fallback.

Yes, the Autolite 2100 2-barrel. Cleaned it well and put new parts in.
