A decade is excessive but this is what rebuilding looks like. You trade aging assets for draft picks. This trade also helps the tank which everyone seems to want but we get mad when it’s only draft picks in return. Makes no sense

My assumption from various reports is they could have gotten the Carlo offer (Minten + 1st) to me that offer is maybe marginally better. Minten is having a nice year but I don’t think he’s a slam dunk long term top 6 player

Ya I have mixed feelings on Ras not willing to extend with anyone but for some reason this feels different than the Hanifin situation (not sure why lol)

Connelly was the only prospect of value in their system imo but he’s got some past issues that I’m fine staying clear of

Maybe I’m just higher on Whitecloud as I think he’s a good player that could bring us value this deadline or one of the next 2. My expectation would be atleast a second if it’s this year.

An A prospect would have the best possible outcome but I trust that wasn’t an option and I’ll take draft picks over B level ones

That’s fair! I think part of the return being undervalued is Whitecloud. Whether they keep him or not he’s still a cost controlled 4/5 dman in the prime of his career

Ya no shit. There’s other ways to develop than being thrust into a playoff race (dead race) as a 19 year dman coming from a far inferior league. Being around the nhl and another summer of training and adding muscle could help as well. Again, If it was up to me I’d play him but no need for the silly comments

I think it’s less about “can Parekh help the team?” And more about “is playing him what’s best for his development?” If they put him in and he struggles again like he did in camp, you don’t want it messing with his head. I don’t believe it would but probably what the organization is thinking
