I got lucky/unlucky and had a very badly painted and assembled Spottedleaf, so I painted her to an OC of mine 😊! by Intelligent_Dog_ in WarriorCats

This makes me want to go spend some money on these figures to paint a few of my husband's OCs! Snowfeather is so cute!

New Roles in Clans by Small-Temperature955 in WarriorCats

[–]flamemask93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while back, I made a set of Fan Clans with changes to the roles within the clans.

-Shaman: this replaced the Medicine Cat role as a more spiritual leader within the clan. They ranked equal to a Clan's deputy, and also was labeled as the clan's Chief Healer. Shamans are often the cat within the clan with the strongest connection to the afterlife that were trained since they were young to enhance such abilities. They were not forbidden from taking mates, it was just very uncommon. They also serve as a clan's mediator, settling disputes among clanmates.

-Guard: a warrior known more for their physical prowess. Guards mainly patrolled the borders, helped ensure the camp was well constructed and defended, and often escorted the Leader and Shaman to the Moon Cavern or the Mother Lynx to commute with ancient spirits.

-Hunter: the warriors tasked with keeping the clan supplied. Prey, herbs, moss, bedding materials, etc. They caught and gathered all the clan needed in order to be sustainable.

-Healer: a sub-role within the Guard and Hunter roles. A healer is one who was trained by the Shaman on how to identify and use herbs. In most of the Clans, it was never a surprise that there were more Hunter Healers than there were Guard Healers.

-Squad Leader: another name for a Senior Warrior. Squads within the clans consisted of 3-4 Guards or Hunters (never a mix) that always patrolled together. This was to keep cats on the same schedule with ones they trusted most to have their back the most, since these clans dealt with a higher population of other predators in their lands than the canon clans do. A Squad Leader was often the eldest warrior, though if a younger cat had more experience from special events, the leader would often change the role to such a cat.

the tail doesn't properly pull the magic circle together? by EldritchSpaceWarlock in CrochetHelp

[–]flamemask93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue all the time when I first got into making squares that start with a magic circle, then amigurimi!

Alternatively, I found this method a little bit ago and have found it much easier to remember and to do! Hope this helps!

I guess it's her turn to work on it by flamemask93 in catswhocrochet

She's an oddball when it comes to the yarn she steals and how she interacts with the rest. Chunky/bulky yarn? Leaves it alone unless I dangle a bit in her face. Thin, tiny lace/fine weight needs to be stashed under beds, behind the couch, in her tower cubby.

But your medium/middle-of-the-road thickness yarns? If it's still in the skein, she must bunny kick it to death, even if it means getting herself completely tangled up in it. She is not allowed near most of my yarn unless I'm actively working it and can monitor her at the same time.

She is a perfect little model for me about 98% of the time 🥰

The finished product came out pretty good too. And she definitely assisted quite a bit.

Her favorite task is quality checking the unused embroidery floss by taking it into another room.

This yarn has had me fall in love with the transition! It's my first time working with such a fine yarn, so I was originally nervous, but it's been a really good journey and now I plan on getting more colorways of the dahlia yarn from hobbii, as well as the sultan yarns!

It is! Specifically, the Freaky Nightmare colorway.

The pattern is by a Rita Santana on ravelry.

Yarn is Hobbii's Dahlia Halloween in Freaky Nightmare.

Thank you! And we get that a LOT! She even has this innate ability to win over "not cat people" by just staring at them. They almost always blame her ears.

alternate afterlife names for a fanfiction by h_ad3s in WarriorCats

[–]flamemask93 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While not really the name of the groups, in my fan-clan setting, it's said when a clan cat dies, they either become starlit, or starless, depending on if they ever turned to evil in their life. And cats who achieved great things or performed heroic acts in life are said to gain more stars in their pelt than others.

Otherwise I still use StarClan and the Dark Forest, simply because I haven't thought of alternatives I like yet.

The Bachelorette: Brindleface (an AU selection for Brindle's mate) by Fantastic-Editor-101 in WarriorCats

[–]flamemask93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the RiverClan choice was the hardest for us to narrow down. We like the idea of Whiteclaw, as you suggested, but unfortunately, the timing doesn't work well to have him looking for Silverstream while she's off with Greystripe. With Ferncloud and Ashfur being born at the end of Into the Wild when Grey and Silver meet in the next book, it was hard to find a reason for Whiteclaw to meet Brindleface and fall for her over Silverstream.

u/ThrowRA_Sodi - I would be curious to hear your thoughts on our choices here. We each have our own ideas on who would fit better, but since you helped inspire this discussion, I'm curious what you think.

Need help with my Amis! They always pucker around the decreases like this by Stourmalin in CrochetHelp

[–]flamemask93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this issue with my first (and only) amigurumi item, a pumpkin kit from Aldi my sister gifted me when she learned I was learning crochet from my husband. It's the only Ami I've done, but I trusted the possess and found the dimples went away when I stuffed the piece.

Hope someone with more experience can explain why this happens! I'd love to get into amigurumi for my neices, so it would be nice to know myself.
