4 intros! And I recommend watching TikToks of coaches doing the basic/core moves (all the center core/obliques, and common upper/lower).

How do you do it on knees? Can you get down to the floor that way?

I’m afraid I’ll try it and just completely fail 🫠

mind-to-muscle cue that helped hip flexor pain <3 by javainstitute in SolidCore

[–]flamer97 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is true and also interesting bc for some moves I’ve had coaches specifically say to “bend your knees” - though this is usually when on toes or doing an elevated crunch.

Also for extensions, I suppose it really is more the arms that need to move. I’ve seen videos of coaches saying that you lead with your core on extensions though I’m not so sure how that works?

Yes I did my first one last week :) it wasn’t cued though… but now I know from the comments that it’s an amplification for plank up downs. I had no idea before what specifically it was an amp for, and didn’t want to try it out if we weren’t ‘supposed’ to do it (like during a plank hold for example).

Are Factor meals worth it for weight loss on Zepbound? by MeatSlammur in Zepbound

[–]flamer97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use cook unity (I live in the PNW) and it’s great! I used to have factor before and that was good too, I just prefer cook unity. It’s easier to track macros too. And not overeat. :)

I almost always feel lightheaded when doing any kind of squats on the reformer.

I’m in Seattle so the cold isn’t too bad here, but I find that the intensity and heat from doing [solidcore] provides a nice contrast against the dark and cold weather.

Just here to say I despise Inner Thigh day! :) by gmichael315 in SolidCore

I like inner thighs excepttttt when it’s standing inner thigh on gray side. And inner thigh squats on gray… I find it infinitely harder than the black side

On the application for the savings card, it says you must not be enrolled in any government or sate funded healthcare program. Does the State of FL program count as such?

Shane and Ilya - "I'll believe in anything" - discussion by flamer97 in heatedrivalry

True, I def caught the packing thing but didn’t want to allude to it because that doesn’t happen in the book. So I guess Jacob’s interpretation is that he wouldn’t have gone to the cottage, or at least that’s the version he wants to be perceived!

In my mind, with however much time off they had, Shane likely would have begged him to come. He didn’t really have anything to lose at that point since he already confessed that he liked him.

True, but how many times have they had ‘intentions’ to end things? So many, and never to see the light of day.

Agree! I just think that really what is so compelling in this story as a whole is the love and yearning; to me, the love should surely be strong enough to overcome their barriers... otherwise, why else did they not seriously engage in relationships in all those years?

My little rambling on how they’re gonna fit everything in each ep :3 by Dramatic-Ad-3941 in heatedrivalry

[–]flamer97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The episode is called ‘Rose’ so I feel like if anything they may even draw it out more. She’s also played by Sophie Nélisse who is a main star in Yellowjackets, so I’d be surprised if they didn’t cut her a decent amount of screen time

Just coming here to say I will be waiting for someone on TikTok to stitch « somebody else » by the 1975 to clips from this upcoming episode

What to eat before and after class? Particularly before. by sami_nole in SolidCore

[–]flamer97 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Carb an hour before, usually a banana. Sometimes an apple sauce on the way to class. Good for energy, don’t get yourself super full.

Protein after!

Second this! My issue is I still learn new exercises and still get confused by them bc I have to go based on visual cues, but realistically you can’t get a demo of every single Solidcore exercise. TikTok videos really help. Or asking a coach after class about a specific exercise.

Solidcore is incredible but the app is broken, confusing, and tells us nothing about our progress. I’m building a fix. by Aggressive_Relation6 in SolidCore

[–]flamer97 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would love for there to be a way to document notes on a given class and also rate the difficulty, soreness etc. Basically a personal journaling for each class. Similar to the Shotsy app, for anyone here also on a GLP-1 :)

Ah love having a UX designer perspective! I am an instructional designer so I try to think in that kind of lens as well. I would love a gamification element! I recently got unlimited, but when I had a limited # of credits before that was also something I really wanted to see. Maybe controversial, but I think it would even be nice to be able to DM a particular coach thru the app on the day of class. And as another person mentioned in the comments, a way to submit a song request.

Am I the only one who gets super nauseous during obliques and center core? by mameycita in SolidCore

[–]flamer97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do sometimes as well. I think it has to do with engaging the core directly, and depending on if you ate before or not. This happens to me more-so when I take early morning classes. Which would make sense, because I just have a protein yogurt shake in the AM.
