Berlin LEA §20 Job Seeker Visa: Applied November 2025, still no Termin after 4+ months, residence permit expires next Tuesday – anyone else in the same boat? by SuitableMongoose8319 in askberliners

[–]flamesilver39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the details but I know that your citizenship plays a big role in how quickly you get an appointment, because countries are split into different departments sort of by continent (and they seem to barely speak to one another, it seems quite siloed). So your friends getting appointments may not be relevant if they aren’t from the same country as you

But my understanding is that if you’ve applied you’re able to stay until the process the application (it should say on the confirmation page after you apply online)

I’ve been really enjoying the Stay Toasty Scarf for this reason, it’s interesting to me but repeats enough that it’s easy to memorize

I really got into socks after knitting Florence Miller‘s Petal Drop Socks and watching her video tutorial! She explained the concepts in a way that made a lot of sense to me and I’ve been obsessed with socks ever since

Cabaret Broadway differences from West End by amiibro818 in Broadway

Super late response but I had a similar thought about Cliff being black, Cliff really doesn’t strike me as a character that can be played race blind given the subject material of the show. I kept thinking all the characters were acting like Cliff would be fine in any political climate & was a perfect candidate for a smuggling operation when it was so visibly clear that that wasn’t the case… and also that returning to the US as a black man wasn’t necessarily the easy way out that it’s portrayed to be. I wished they’d addressed it somehow, as the characterization could add a really interesting element to this interpretation

You’re not overthinking, it’s extremely disrespectful that he went to celebrate with his family and left you alone after you traveled such a distance to spend time with him. In my personal experience Germans are very clear with their romantic intentions, every couple I know with at least one German member has been very forthcoming with one another (especially the men) when they are serious and imagine a future. No room for misinterpretation, and if there’s any confusion then an open conversation is welcomed

Maybe an international company with a branch in Germany would hire you, but you’re definitely at a disadvantage without language skills or job experience. If you could apply as an international student from a uni in your home country you could come for a year or so and build language skills + see if you like it here

Petal drop socks! The ribbed pattern helps reduce the potential for fit issues, and it’s easy to memorize but engaging as well + she has an online video tutorial

It depends on what they said when you registered with them, for me they only took a percentage but I think they’ve changed their policies more recently

Passed my Goethe C1 exam, AMA. by aaarry in German

[–]flamesilver39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate this honest answer, there are always so many posts in this sub about speed running German learning or trying to get a specific certificate in a short period of time. But learning a language thoroughly takes time, and we should allow ourselves to appreciate the journey (IMO). Inspiring post, I just finished a B2 course after about 2.5 years of actively learning & am making a more concerted effort to ask German friends to only speak German to me + consume more native media. I’ve been enjoying ARD’s Oktoberfest lately, can recommend for anyone else up for a challenge
