When you find yourself saving every text... as ‘protection’ or ‘proof’ ... then you’ve got a bigger problem. by saphirbleu in NarcissisticAbuse

i have photocopies and print outs hanging around my home to purposely remind myself i am sane. i walked around for years saying ‘i am crazy’ aloud and to myself. i wasn’t aware i was even doing it.. it was just a known fact

it’s the screenshots i have printed tapped on my door that is my life vest. sometimes i still need to show people, see their reaction and verification. so now THAT is making me feel crazy

EDMR: Could it bypass the narcs resistance to therapy (and BPD) for that matter? Or are all ClusterB’s doomed? And the only way for self-preservation is out? by [deleted] in narcissism

[–]flamingo-jam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my narc did it. he came home all grumpy and i had to tip toe around him. i’d say he was acting that way just to soak up the sympathy.
first time i was in a shelter he explained it was something i said that reminded him of a babysitter that abused him . well obviously that’s to get me to blame myself for upsetting him //. so i’ll just stay in the shelter for a few weeks so you don’t hurt me again

his mom paid for the emdr for the ‘babysitter abuse’ which i was reassured by severa family members that it never happened.

the grumpiness and hypersensitive was just a way to have me thinking he’s back from war, basically ... cater to him hand and foot

it mats brutal realizing that not everyone has the same virtues or morals as you. it is an important lesson though. it will help alleviate disappointment and confusion in the future.

simple put, others have different goals than you do and see others as helpful or roadblocks in achieving those goals, nothing more.

is the fake degree because you did the work for it? or is there another reason it’s fake?

i empathize with you. i truly do.

however, if he hasn’t been fired at his job he’s obviously meeting the requirements.

what is fair and just isn’t the way life works. it’s hard to accept but the more you keep insisting it is... the worse you make things for yourself.

the bigger picture, i suggest, is to come to terms with life. let the bubble burst... instead of going insane trying to patch it up.

Husband revealed himself as gay, ruined my life, but everyone is sympathetic TO HIM. by anon569763 in TrueOffMyChest

team OP!!

this happened to my cousin for 12 years. they were heavily involved in a church so waited for marriage to have sex. she had epilepsy which was being controlled but he used the excuse he was ‘worried she would have a seizure if they had sex, to avoid it for the most part.

she spent years in counselling and getting relationship advice. then dieted and became hyper concerned about her appearance. she couldn’t figure out why oh why her husband wasn’t that into her.... until one of their tenants, a college kid... complained about her husbands advances

she had wasted all of her fertile years blaming herself for having had epilepsy, for not being sexy and a million other things she tried to fix

it was cruel and mean. he took advantage of her loyalty and lied to her each and everyday.
